Question: Are there other vintage tools besides hand planes that you enjoy using?
Let me know if you have a question you'd like me to answer.

I decided to build a new step stool for my daughter. She broke the cheap plastic one and I couldn't find a suitable replacement. This is made from oak harvested from trees on my familys property. I used a strip of walnut veneer in the center of the seat for an accent. The project is finished with some spray on poly. I know this little stool will get tons of use for many years.

When you have thin strips left over from ripping some lumber, save them to use as stir sticks for mixing paint or epoxy.

I've been wanting to make an Ulu style knife from a horseshoe for quite some time. I started with a high carbon steel horseshoe and shaped the metal on my homemade 2x72" belt grinder. After hardening the steel, I made some wooden handles and a leather sheath. These Horseshulu blades sharpened up really well. I think these turned out great and I bet you've never seen a knife quite like this.

In this video I'm installing a Curt brand Trailer wiring Kit on a 2005 Ford Escape. Part number 56075. The kit is a T connector kit that ties into the tail lights with T connectors. There is no need to splice the taillight wires to connect this. First you remove the taillights, mount the relay box, and connect the chassis ground. Then route the wiring to the taillights and connect your taillights to the T connectors. The last step is to run the hot wire to the front of the vehicle and connect the inline fuse to the battery. Finally, tie all the wires up with zip ties, and test the lights. We ran into a little snag during this installation when we made an unexpected discovery.
Here's how to install the hitch - https://youtu.be/3QDWOfnxAGY

Good double sided tape is an invaluable tool in the workshop. I use double sided tape for guitar building for attaching router templates, as well as many other applications around the shop. My favorite tape to date, is this 3M 9579. This tape is a 9 mil tape. It works great and I highly recommend it if you're looking for a really good double sided tape. This tape is available in different widths, but I prefer to use the 1" width.
