Part 11 of this series, stage by stage, on Normal for now. The difficulty ramps up a little bit and teases you with a few trap rooms, turrets, beams and floating mines. The ol' Dash 'n Frag deals with each, and you can dash through the electric beams, as well. Later on comes another encounter with Mother - just do exactly the same as the first encounter, and either shield or dash and fire. This time, you'll be better equipped, too. Immediately following that is another boss fight with a Heavy Cyborg! You can do a lot of damage with close range Frags and circling him tightly, but you'll take some damage doing this. You can more safely keep at a distance, pick up powerful weaponry if it's there, and put skill points into the Dash to stay moving.

Part 7 of this series, stage by stage, on Normal for now. If you know how to handle this stage's sub-bosses and bosses, they go down quickly. If you do not, then you'll quickly see how this becomes the "threshold" stage for a lot of casual players or game reviewers. You are basically told to put your shield up in the Mother fight to prevent a very quick death, but you can also dash across the beam while firing on Mother the whole time, then unloading the Frag and your heavier weapon (if you have one) on it while recharging. You will also fight against a pair of Angels in this stage. If you time it correctly, you can take out about 3 cores per rotation with well placed Frags and aiming Spread type weapons on any that might go over your head and land.

Just barely squeaked through! I got a little sloppy towards the end of the fight and missed plenty of Circle opportunities, but my stick and move worked here. Honestly, Raoh isn't too bad in comparison to other bosses with multiple phases so far. I even had lower levels! Maybe a little different in the harder difficulties...

Nadai is such a pain in the ass, even on NG+. I need to work on better avoidance of his ground attack in later difficulties, but I think I have some ideas next time around. But still, down he goes!
The mob fight goes from 0:00 to about 6:06, with the Nadai fight at about 7:35.

Part 14 of this series, stage by stage, on Normal for now. The longest and most boss-filled stage in the game, but not super tough. If you're doing the "finisher" on most standard fights, your life should keep filling up, and if not, equip the Health upgrade, which should be built up well by now. It starts right out with a challenge in another Heavy Cyborg with a some new attacks (just dash laterally to avoid), a tougher Angel fight, and then TrafficKing returns... who fights exactly like the Heavy Cyborg, only he has 3 life bars! Khog wraps things up, but he's a pushover if you've gotten through everybody else. Just dash n' frag him, and dash laterally if he gets too happy with his Xaar gun. You will also keep hearing voices throughout the stage. My guess is, it's Hulk Hogan, brother. The final "big boss" comes next stage.

Ugh, Jagi is among the most annoying bosses in the game, mostly due to his 2-phase fight without any recovery in between. I used healing items between phases (Boo! Hiss!) but ironically, I'm not sure I took enough damage in Phase 2 to even warrant doing so! Live and learn, I guess. Still have to get better at reading Phase 1. And I will.
The fight goes from 2:17 to about 6:00, then Phase 2 at 7:54 to 9:45.

This is a largely cinematic stage, and a MAJOR breather from last stage. The Hosts can drain your health quickly, but just Frag when they get too close and you'll be fine. Some smaller scale Angel fights where you can just use the plentiful Hellfire flamethrowers on them and the Host Piles accompanying them. The usual fights aren't any more difficult than anything from Hanza, just avoid getting landed on. Otherwise, just be as thorough as you can in destroying Angels or Host Piles (always with Hellfire for the latter) if you're snagging trophies.

More or less maxed out here, so it's time to take on Original Mode! Even at levels over 50, Shin is a piece of cake with a fully powered Kenshiro. Definitely the easiest boss in the game, which fits this "tutorial" stage. He still takes off quite a bit if he connects, but he did not!
