Someone sent us an email asking “why don’t the bears have toys”? Well, they DO have toys, as is evident in this video of Rosie, Randy and Kimmie. But like kids, they prefer to play with the box! Give a bear a ball and he will play with it for an hour or two and then start playing with a rock or twig he found! But rest assured, the bears do have plenty of play things and they do play with them, including a big swing inside.
Jimbo and Leo.

You’ll notice a difference in the roughness of how the bears play with each other and how they play with Jim or Susan. They really do understand the difference.

It is truly amazing to watch Amy & Jenny play. What a unique opportunity to watch bears behave like this. In the wild, bears mostly lives solitary lives (except a mother with cubs) and you would not see adult bears playing in this manner. Perhaps these bears can not live as nature intended, but because of that - they have been given unique lifelong friendships. (And lots of fun!)

A few weeks ago, we posted a video of Jim playing with the bears in a small section of pipe. The company that makes that pipe loved the video and shared it on their page. They then reached out to us and asked if we could use something larger for the bears. YES. YES WE WOULD LOVE THAT!!! This type of pipe is what we make all swings out of and it’s pretty much the only thing that can stand up to the bears. Everything else we try to make toys from gets demolished in seconds. But not this stuff. Alas, we only had small sections that were left over on construction sites. But then...THIS...THIS... ADS - Advanced Drainage Systems - drove up this week with a HUGE section of pipe for us. They call it drainage pipe for some reason, but WE KNOW it is BEAR-PLAY-PIPE!!!! How awesome is this? And just wait until tomorrow...just wait until you see all the videos of the bears as they came out to find THIS in their play yard. You’re going to love this week’s videos. Oh, and don’t forget to drop ADS a thank you, eh? This was pretty incredible of them.

We heard from Quinn again! This time she raised almost $170 for us from her handmade temps that she sells! Wowowowow! Thank you Quinn! Of course as Susan tried to get some video of the letter and the bears...we had more uncooperative bears....which just makes this video funnier...poor Susan....haha!
