#TRINJAN is an initiative of Kheti Virasat Mission (#KVM), Punjab which is trying to revive the Rural Art and Craft in an Ecologically and Socially responsible manner. TRINJAN is a Punjabi word that means a common space for women usually for collective learning and teaching. Traditional Wisdom of art and craft like hand spinning, hand weaving, embroidery, rug weaving, etc. would get transferred from the elder generation to the younger ones and that is how this legacy would keep continuing through TRINJAN.

Approach
Local organic cotton production in Punjab and its processing by the local artisans i.e. ginners, carders, spinners, dyers and weavers. All the artisans get work in their homes. Most of the artisans are women. It represents women’s dignity, freedom and creativity to express themselves. While working from homes, women can look after their kids and do the other household chores. TRINJAN considers the ecological, social, cultural, health and economic aspects all together.
TRINJAN identifies and recognizes the master skilled artisans who have a very rich experience of the craft. We try to document and learn from their work. TRINJAN is working on complete value chain of fiber to fabric in a decentralized manner.
