Praying in the Spirit

The church need not be faithful for Jesus to be faithful
2 Timothy 2:13 - If we are faithless,
He remains faithful;
He cannot deny Himself.
We call ourselves friend of God:
James 2:23 - And the Scripture was fulfilled which says, “Abraham believed God, and it was [a]accounted to him for righteousness.” And he was called the friend of God.
God says – my friend
Isaiah 41:8 - But you, Israel, are My servant,
Jacob whom I have chosen,
The descendants of Abraham My friend.
Ask and it will be given to you. Seek and you will find.
Matthew 7:17 - Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.
The reward is not public – but it is experienced in public
Hebrews 11:6 - But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

Kung siyasatin lang natin ang ating buhay, makikita natin ang ating sarili tulad ni Jonah na minsan pinipili nating tahakin ang maling landas, minsan pinipili nating tayo ay magkamali. Gusto kong makita mo na sa tuwing pipiliin natin ang maling landas, sa tuwing pipiliin natin ang disobedience, parang sinasabi natin, “God we know better than you do!” Parang ipinapalagay nating mas marunong tayo sa Diyos ngunit yan ay maling-mali, huwag nating ipilit yung gusto lang natin kundi mapapahamak lang tayo.
This is the moment na ipagamit na ang ating buhay doon sa lumikha sa atin, ang buhay natin ay gawing always available sa Diyos and be obedient sa instructions ng Diyos.
Falling is a habit once you disobeyed God, once you run away from God. “Disobedience is the most expensive thing you will ever experience.”

Jonah is not about a great fish, the book of Jonah is about a great God.
Do what God is calling you to do. Do what God is leading you to do. Life is simple if we do and follow what God is calling and leading us to do, huwag na nating pangarapin pa ang hard way, either we obey God or disobey God. Either we go to Nineveh or we go to Tarshish with every decision in life. Let’s make the right decision right now and head forward to our call in our day-to-day lives.

- Ang isang taong tunay na ipinanganak na muli (born again) ay nagnanais na magkaroon ng mas malapit na kaugnayan sa Diyos, at mararanasan lang natin ito kapag tayo ay may paghahangad ng isang mas malapit na kaugnayan sa Diyos at yan ay isang kapuri-puring layunin at sumasalamin sa puso ng isang taong tunay na binago ng Diyos.
- Dapat din nating maunawaan na sa buhay na ito ay hindi natin lubos na makakamit ang pinakamalapit na kaugnayan sa Diyos na kagaya ng ating magiging kaugnayan sa Kanya pagdating natin sa langit.
- Ang dahilan nito ay ang presensya ng kasalanan sa ating mga buhay. Hindi ito kakulangan para sa Diyos kundi kakulangan ito para sa atin.
- Nananatiling hadlang ang ating mga kasalanan para sa isang tunay at kumpletong pakikisama sa Diyos.
- Maging si Apostol Pablo man na nagkaroon ng malapit na relasyon sa Diyos na maaaring higit sa kaninumang nabubuhay ngayon ay umasam o naghangad parin siya ng isang higit na malapit na relasyon sa Diyos.
5 PANGUNAHING BAGAY NA MAAARING GAWIN UPANG MAGKAROON NG MAS MALAPIT PA NA RELASYON SA DIYOS
1. Ang pagkakaroon ng araw-araw na pagtatapat sa Kanya ng ating mga kasalanan.
2. Ang pakikinig sa Kanyang mga salita.
3. Ang magpaabot sa Diyos ng ating mga niloloob sa pamamagitan ng panalangin.
4. Dumalo sa mga pagtitipon kabilang na din ang virtual.
5. Pagsunod sa Diyos.
- Sa pamamagitan ng paghingi ng tawad, pagaaral at pakikinig ng Salita ng Diyos, prayer, regular na pagdalo sa mga pagtitipon o pagsamba at pagsunod, maaari tayong magkaroon ng isang MAS malapit pa na kaugnayan sa Diyos.
- Kung nagnanais talaga tayo na magkaroon ng MAS malapit pa na connection o relasyon sa Diyos ay maaaring tignan natin ang ating buhay paglilingkod at sa mga gawain ng Diyos.
- Para sa’yo mahalaga ba ang mas makilala pa si JESUS sa lahat ng bagay? Kung ganon ay naghahangad ka pa ng MAS malapit na relasyon sa Diyos.

We need to understand that storms come for a reason.
a. God tests us in a storm to strengthen us
b. Satan tests us in a storm to fail us
c. Storms sometimes discipline us

Paraan ng Panalangin
Hindi lang basta mananalangin ng walang patutunguhan kailangan ay may address.
Anuman ang hingin natin sa Ama sa langit sa Pangalan ni Hesus ay ipagkakaloob Niya.
1. Address to the Father
2. In the name of Jesus
Panalangin – Pakikipag-ugnayan ng mga Kristiyano at sa Diyos.
Let’s establish our Prayer in a dialogue not a monologue. A dialogue is comes from the heart not a monologue like rituals or recitations.
Why do we pray?
We need guidance from God, assurance, blessings, confirmation and etc. We need strength from God and we need to be dependent only to God because we cannot do nothing without God.
a. Kanino tayo lalapit kapag tayo ay mananalangin? – Address to the Father.
- Lalapit tayo sa Kanyang Trono ng Biyaya.
- MATEO 6:9, The Lord’s Prayer: Our Father in heaven.
- Hebreo 4:16, Kapag lalapit sa Ama ay may katapangan (boldness, confidence, solid faith). Kindly read JOHN 1:12. Ang mayroon lamang karapatan na tumawag sa Ama ay ang Kanyang mga anak (Kristiyano). Nang maging Ama natin ang Diyos ay nagkaroon na Siya ng responsibilidad sa kanyang mga anak. Pero hindi lahat ng ating mga panalangin ay ibibigay ng Diyos, una, baka ikapapahamak natin, matuto tayong mag-antay (wait), upang palawakin pa ang pananalig natin sa Kanya o pagtitiwala natin sa Kanya.
- MATEO 6:25-32. Ang Diyos ang ating great provider. Na kapag mananalangin tayo sa Kanya ay may kalakip na gawa. Responsibility ng Diyos na iligtas tayo (JOHN 3:16). Hindi hahayaan ng Diyos na ikaw ay mapapahamak habang ikaw ay patuloy na tumatayo o sumusunod sa Kanyang alituntunin. Ililigtas tayo at pararangalan tayo (AWIT 91:14-15).
- May kakayanan ang Diyos Ama na marinig ang panalangin ng bawat isa sa iba’t-ibang dako sa oras na iyon (God is Omnipresent – God of everywhere) – JEREMIAH 23:24.
- God is Omnipotent (All powerful God), Genesis 17:1.
- God is Omniscient (All knowing God), God knows what’s best for us. God of knowledge and wisdom. PSALM 139:1-4.
b. In the Name of Jesus, it will be given, Amen. Lahat ay napapaloob sa Pangalan ni Hesus o ang susi ng lahat ay sa Pangalan ng Panginoong Hesus, wala ng ibang Pangalan sa silong ng langit kundi ang Pangalan ng Panginoong Hesus.

26 When the disciples saw him walking on the lake, they were terrified. “It’s a ghost,” they said, and cried out in fear. 27 But Jesus immediately said to them: “Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.” 28 “Lord, if it’s you,” Peter replied, “tell me to come to you on the water.” 29 “Come,” he said. Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. 30 But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!” 31 Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. “You of little faith,” he said, “why did you doubt?”
What does unable to stay focus mean? Ano ang ibig sabihin ng hindi makapag-pokus o makapag-concentrate?
-You cannot think clearly (Hindi ka makapag-isip ng malinaw).
-You cannot focus on a task (Hindi ka makapag-focus sa isang gawain).
-You cannot maintain your attention (Hindi mo mapanatili ang iyong atensyon).
What are the signs of being unable to stay focus? Ano ang mga senyales o signs ng hindi makapag-focus?
*Forgetful! And we need to be aware of these:
a. Forgetful in the Word of God (Makakalimutin sa salita ng Diyos) - And this is unable to focus on the word of God.
b. Forgetful in Prayer (Makakalimutin sa Panalangin) - And this is unable to focus on Prayer.
c. Forgetful in our Daily devotion (Makakalimutin sa araw-araw na debosyon) - And this is unable to focus on your Commitment.
d. Forgetful in Assembly (Makakalimutin sa Pagtitipon o sa Gawain ng Diyos) - And this is unable to focus on the Ministry.
e. Forgetful who is Jesus in our lives (Makakalimutin sa kung sino si Hesus sa ating buhay) - And this is unable to focus on the Promises of God, unable to focus our Faith on Jesus and unable to focus who’s Jesus is.
f. Forgetful in following Jesus as our Master (Makakalimutin sa pagsunod kay Hesus bilang ating Guro o Panginoon) - And this is unable to focus on Jesus as our Lord or Master and Model.
Who do we seek help, if we are unable to stay focus? Kanino tayo dapat hihingi ng tulong, kung hindi natin kayang makapag-focus?
In VERSES 30 to 31, But when Peter saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!” Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him.
Conclusion:
Naranasan niyo na bang nasabihan ng “more focused”? Meaning pay attention more! Bakit kaya tayo sinasabihan ng ganong salita, dahil wala tayo sa “focus” o di kaya’y bakit sinasabihan natin ang ating kapwa ng ganong salita, dahil nakikita natin na hindi siya nagpo-pokus. At ito ay napakagandang salita upang tayo’y magising at magbalik ang ating Focus sa ating Panginoong Hesus.
Lets get back to our main text, Jesus said to Peter in VERSE 31 “You of little faith,” “why did you doubt?” Ikaw na maliit ang pananampalataya, bakit ka nag-alinlangan? Kaya sinabi ito ng Panginoong Hesus kay Pedro dahil nakikita Niyang hindi nagpo-pokus si Pedro at hindi na sa Kanya naka-pokus. Alam ni Hesus ang consequences ng Hindi pagtuon ng Focus sa Kanya dahil ang tao’y lulubog o mapapahamak. At ngayon nalaman natin ngayon iyan. Na para bagang sinasabi ng Panginoong Hesus kay Pedro na “More focused or stay focused or pay attention, wake-up”. At ganon din sa ating lahat mga kapatid. Nang mapansin ni Pedro na siya ay palubog na ay tumawag agad siya kay Hesus na sinasabi “Lord save me!” at sa ganong paraan ay napigilan ang kanyang tuluyang paglubog.
At kung napapansin din naman natin na tayo ay nanlalamig na sa Salita ng Diyos, sa ating Pananalangin at sa ating Paglilingkod ay isipin natin ang sinabi ni Hesus kay Pedro na ikaw na maliit ang pananampalataya, bakit ka nag-alinlangan na parang sinasabi ng Panginoong Hesus na stay focus on my word, stay focus on prayer, stay focus on your daily devotion, more focus on your faith, on your ministry that God entrusted to you, on serving Him, on Worshipping, and stay focused on ME.

Si JESUS ay may kapangyarihan kung gayon na palayain tayo mula sa masasamang espirituwal na pinuno ng kadiliman, mula sa kasalanan mismo, mula sa diyablo, at mula sa kamatayan.
Walang ibang makakaputol, makakawasak sa gumagapos o nagpapahirap sayo kapatid kundi si JESUS.
Kung wala pa si JESUS sayo ay wala kang tunay na kalayaan at wala kang kaligtasan.
