The Volksempfänger VE301 was a very commonly used radio in Germany during the 1930s. In this video, I take one apart to check whether it still works. Then I show how to play your own music on this historical radio.

VFD (Vacuum Fluorescent Display) tubes are a good alternative to Nixie tubes in retro clocks. See how they work and how they can be interfaced to a microcontroller like an Arduino or ESP32. I show the legendary russian IV-11 tubes, which look very nice in retro clocks.
This video is a part of my steampunk Digital Pendulum Clock Project.

This project was inspired by the C64 Maxi and THEVIC20 retro consoles.
If you still have your old day´s Commodore Vic-20 or Commodore 64, you can give it a new life with a Raspberry Pi and a handful of electronic parts.
So I did for my old Vic-20 (VC 20 in Germany). After thoroughly cleaning it and taking it apart , I've followed all of the steps which I show in this video and I now have a cool Linux computer that is great for all kinds of applications we use today.

The TMS9918 Video Display Processor (VDP) from Texas Instruments was a very popular video chip which was widely used in many home computers and game consoles of the 1980s.
See how I put it on a breadboard and connected It with an Arduino to tickle out its 256x192 Pixels and 15 colors.
