Episode 150. We start in this video with a fresh install of VirtualBox on Windows 10. We look through the different options in VirtualBox and go through the steps to install an Ubuntu VM with the VirtualBox Guest Additions. This video goes into detail not generally covered in my install videos. Great for beginners.
Please Note: The steps taken in this video are going to be the same whether your physical computer is running Linux, macOS, Windows or BSD. The common factor here is VirtualBox.

A viewer recently asked about FreeFileSync on Linux Mint. When it was installed, they didn't have icons on the desktop. In this video, I'll cover the initial install of FreeFileSync without desktop icons, and two ways you can get the desktop icons if you want them.

The Tera-Digital Pro Series HW0009 Scanner has a few tricks up its sleeves by including an LCD screen in the scanner, you no longer have to scan barcodes to do configuration of the scanner. This makes this model easier for less experienced users. Coming in at under $80 USD at the time this review was recorded, it is a reasonably priced scanner with a great featureset.
You can purchase the Tera Digital HW0009 Pro Scanner using the Affiliate Link below. Using this link does not change your price, but it does kick a little bit back to the channel which is very much appreciated.

It is worth noting that on page 11 of the manual, there are instructions to contact Tera customer service for the Time Sync Tool if the time displayed on the barcode does not match that of your computer. I hope in a future firmware revision they might add a way for an end-user to set the timezone without contacting support.
NOTE: This scanner was purchased with my own funds and this review captures my initial thoughts using the scanner. This is not sponsored in any way.

To celebrate World Backup Day I am taking a look at a backup utility that I have not used yet, and that is Rustic. This is a command line tool that will run password protected snapshots saved to the location of your choice.
