Flint’s team is all Fire type and is 16 levels higher than before. Houndoom will use Sludge Bomb to poison opponents and make them flinch with Dark Pulse. Flareon will use Will-O-Wisp to burn targets and Overheat for a strong attack at the expense of its own Special Attack stat. Rapidash will use Bounce to avoid attack the first turn the strike the next turn with a 30% chance of paralyzing. Infernape will use Mach Punch to strike first and Flare Blitz for big damage at the expense of some of the user’s own HP. The beginning has Dull Bones, Thwomps, and Boos. If you turn away from a Boo, it will chase you. Use the pipe to go up and you’ll find pits of spikes. After passing some more Thwomps, you’ll find the door. In the next room, there is a moving platform with spikes. Once the next door appears, you’ll enter the boss room. Stomp Boom Boom 3 times to get the key and finish the level.

Elesa is one of the Unova Leaders in the Pokémon World Tournament that can be battled in either the Unova Leaders or World Leaders Tournaments. Elesa is skilled in using Electric type Pokémon. Zebstrika will use Flame Charge to speed up and Thrash to cause big damage as it repeats for 2-3 turns. Ampharos will use Cotton Guard to raise its Defense stat and Discharge to paralyze opponents. Galvantula will use Disable to revoke the target’s recently used move for a few turns. Emolga will use Attract to make opposite genders less likely to move and Acrobatics with a Flying Gem taking effect. Eelektross will use Coil to gain Accuracy and Zap Cannon to easily paralyze a target. Stunfisk will use Muddy Water to lower the Accuracy stat of opponents and Stone Edge for critical hits. A move like Earthquake would fit best to attack.

Alder can only be battled in the Champions Tournament. He borrows some Pokémon from the Elite Four and even the champions. Volcarona will use Quiver Dance to speed up and Heat Wave to strike all nearby opponents. Conkeldurr will use Stone Edge for critical hits and Mach Punch to strike first. Reuniclus will use Reflect and Light Screen to reduce damage for 5 turns respectively. Krookodile will use Outrage to strike for 2-3 turns then become confused. Chandelure holds a Choice Scarf to gain extra Speed but can only use one move. Braviary holds a Choice Band to gain power on physical attacks but becomes eligible only to use a single move. Make sure you have a whole variety of moves for this battle.

After getting 4 badges and the HM03 (Surf) from Cynthia’s grandmother at Celestic Town, you can now enter the gym at Hearthome City. This gym has signs that quiz you and you must pick the right door to go through to get the question right. If you guess right, you’ll enter the next room. If you guess wrong, you’ll face a trainer. After guessing 4 questions right, you’ll battle the gym leader. Fantina uses Ghost type Pokémon. Drifblim will use Minimize to make itself harder to hit then Ominous Wind to sometimes raise its stats. Landing the finishing move with contact on Drifblim causes its Aftermath ability to reduce their HP by a quarter of the maximum. Gengar will use Confuse Ray to confuse opponents then Poison Jab to poison them. Mismagius will use Magical Leaf as a never-miss attack and Psybeam to confuse opponents. After the battle, you’ll receive the Relic Badge and a TM65 (Shadow Claw). Shadow Claw has a high critical hit ratio.

To trigger this battle, you must streak through all types and reach Level 10 of their types as well, which means a 169-win streak. After making it to Level 10 on the final type you’re about to clear, you’ll once again face off against Argenta. Her Pokémon is random and matches the same level your lone one stands after all the streaking. Beat the opponent and you’ll receive the Gold Print along with 20 BP.
