When choosing a holster for your Ruger Mark series gun, you don't have have many good options. There are countless generic holsters that will accommodate your gun, but usually with less compatibility. If you're looking for a holster specifically built for your Ruger 22, that is reversible, compatible with all lengths, and adapted for optics, the Black Max HMK Holster for Ruger 22 Pistols is pretty much the best choice.

The Paramilitary 2 and Manix 2 both bear the signature of Spyderco designer Eric Glesser, but they are quite different, both in looks and in function. Even so, they are clearly designed for the same purpose - but which one performs that purpose better?

This past October, I got out with Mrs. Scout and another friend for a long, high, day hike. Mt. Timpanogos, near Provo, Utah was the destination, and the three of us hit it hard from early in the morning to early evening.

Electronic hearing protection is a luxury for most recreational shooting, but is required equipment at some professional training locations. The Howard Leight Impact Sport is an excellent choice in either role, and given the great comfort and ease of use you'll find in using this device, you won't be disappointed by it. It's relatively affordable, at around $50, and has shown adequate durability for me so far. I highly recommend it for any shooting activities.

My first two runs on the Snow Twister course featured my daily carry concealed handgun, the Glock 26 in 9mm.
Encountering face numbing temperatures, and treacherous, rocky, snow-covered terrain, I ventured out with two of Youtube's finest - SnowLobo95 (with Lady Lobo) & Cr0cket20, for a full day of shooting and camaraderie. Lots of training and data-collecting goals were set for the day, but many were forgotten as we took full advantage of the real benefits of an outing like this - friendship and fun

In my effort to "square-away" both my tactical guns and tactical-training guns, I've tried out a handful of lights and light mounting systems. The Streamlight Poly-Tac LED has turned out to be a great weapon light with good throw, a nice spot, easy actuation, and light weight. However, high-powered guns and shotguns have a little too much kick for this light - I found that out the hard way. On a typical tactical carbine like an AR, or perhaps an AK, this light will perform very well. On a .22 caliber tactical trainier, it will do even better. Amazingly, all this performance comes from a $35 light!
If you are in the process of squaring away your weapons and you're looking to cut corners on price, this Streamlight Poly-Tac LED could be just what you need.
