Last Chance Canyon, Goler Gulch, The Narrows, Schmidt Tunnel and Graduation Hill
A Jeep (and Nissan!) ride through Goler Gulch, through The Narrows and out via Last Chance Canyon. Along the way we stopped at Holland Camp after going through Mormon Flat then made our way through Mesquite Canyon and stopped at Schmidt Tunnel. From there we went through the canyon behind Bickel Camp to check out Jon-Jac Cabin, passed by the Bonanza Gulch Post Office then headed over to the Old Dutch Cleanser mine. From the Cleanser mine we descended in Last Chance Canyon toward Graduation Hill and The V-Notch. Everyone navigated Graduation Hill without a problem but after taking a long look at the V-Notch, everyone in the group decided to take the bypass. ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WH1cPfUUMQo

For years the online "experts" have been telling us that if we coil up our unused coax cable it will damage the radio by creating a high-SWR . In this video I test that to see if the "experts" are right. I test two types of coax, one very low quality, inexpensive coax cable, and a higher quality LMR400 coax cable. I test both using a prototype Wouxon KG-S88G GMRS radio (because thats what I had laying around) at 4 to 5 watts.

This is the complete trail review and guide for the Cleghorn Jeep Trail (2N47) and all of the difficult offshoots and side-trails. We take you through every difficult spot, every rut, and every turn on the trail starting from Interstate 15 all the way out to the end of the trail at Highway 138 across from Silverwood Lake. If you have never done the Cleghorn off-road Jeep trail this video will show you what you have to look forward to and shows you where to turn or not to turn to keep out of (or get into) the rough/difficult areas.
For a review of just the fire-road, with none of the hard sections, see this video:

Part I of this video goes from the beginning of the trail at Interstate 15, traveling eastward to the end of "The Chute", roughly half-way through the trail.
Part 2 Starts at the "punch bowl" (just after The Chute) and goes to the end of the trail on Highway 138 at Silverwood Lake.

By popular demand, I compare the Tidradio TD-H3 GMRS radio to the Baofeng UV-5G Plus GMRS radio. Both of these GMRS walkie-talkies are new to the market and both the Baofeng and the TidRadio have a lot of great features. In this video I compare the most important features of these two low-cost GMRS radios, as determined by ME, the world-famous queen of GMRS.

In this video I dispel some of the mis-information I have seen in the online world about GMRS radios. Specifically, do all GMRS radio manufacturers use the same channels and frequencies and can one brand GMRS radio talk with a different brand GMRS radio.
For clarification, and hopefully to prevent a few stupid-comments, I am referring to FCC Part 95e complaint "GMRS" radios (manufactured anywhere) but sold in the United States as a "GMRS radio".

In this short video I go over the updated Retevis RA85 GMRS hand-held radio. A few months ago I did a review of the RA85 GMRS radio and I pointed out a few issues with the radio such as CTCSS and DTC tones and codes on every channel by default, an antenna that could not be removed from the radio, and all channels set to narrowband with no menu item to change them to wide-band.
You can get the updated RA85 here: https://amzn.to/3ORuj8C

(apologies for the poor sound quality in some clips)
After our run through Doran at Calico, Adam Riivald decided to give The Gatekeeper a spin. This was his second attempt at the Gatekeeper, the first ending after only the first small set of rocks.
Adam was driving "Stalker", a 1998 Jeep XJ (Cherokee) with these upgrades:
Stock 4.0, auto, transfer case.
Metalcloak front 2.5'' springs, adjustable Upper and lower Control arms.
Dyanatrac Prorock 44 front housing running a Detroit full case locker spinning 4.56 Yukon gears turning RCV axle shafts.
Stock rear 8.25 axle, shafts and open differential also using Yukon 4.56 gears.
Rear leafs are junk yard bastard packs using S10 leaf pack under a stock XJ main spring.
Fox 11'' travel 2.0 CD adjustable resi. shocks
33'' BFG AT KO's on aluminum wheels.
Dirt Bound front stubby bumper with custom hidden winch plate.
T-max 8500lb off road series winch with synthetic line by Westin.
Rear bumper is a DIY from JCR with Reese Hich sleeve welded in.
