On this channel I demonstrate, by example, various graphics, video editing, audio and animation software. Only Open Source (FREE) software is used in the video creations.
When possible I demonstrate the software and promote other channels at the same time. I use their channel art and content. This is only done with the channel's permission.
My goal is to tutor art and graphics creation software anyone can use for free.
All software is multiplatform ( WIndows, Linux or Mac OS). Gimp, Krita, Synfig Studio, Kdenlive, Audacity and Blender will be the primary Tools used.
There is a sister website which may be referred to in videos:
https://mylinuxtoybox.com. Much of its content is relevant to videos.
Any special request will be catered too if possible.

This video shows how to create a video introduction, from start to finish. You just need a couple of images you want to show. In fact in this video I am creating the introduction I plan to use. You will be shown how to use Gimp to create the images and FFmpeg to join the images into a video. Both Gimp and FFmpeg can be run on Linux OR Windows computers. This is the style of video I am planning on doing from here on. Kind of like show-and-tell. While using the Gimp image processor you will see how to rotate an image, how to in large an image, making shadows, using layers cutting and pasting images and more. If you enjoy subscribe . As I said in the intro your subscription to me is like gasoline to a car, it keeps me running.
Much of the code used in and to create these videos is available on my website and in GitHub. Both are linked in the header image.
Although this channel is called MyLinuxToyBox many topics will also appropriate for Windows users. If you want to learn about computers it would be well worth the subscription. I will be posting videos about computer languages, computer graphics, video and audio creation and editing. How to create bots, use VPS services, docker and GitHub are just a few topics I will cover in the future. I am excited and only posted my first video today ( this is it ) ha ha ha My format will be simple, a sample video, followed up with a complete explanation as to how it was done. Subscribe and write me a comment. Ask a question I will try to answer.

I did not even realize the WARP tool existed in Gimp. A warp can distort images and is very useful in image effects. This black white and red video is a fast introduction to the tool. I was watching Jonathan Kendall and he was using the Gimp warp tool. I had not used a warp tool for years and that was in Photoshop. So I want to thank Jonathan Kendall for this video idea. I want to explain why I have a YouTube channel. the Intro Video to mylinuxtoybox is the best place. I am retired and I love Linux. I spend hours on my computer. I do not go out cruising or partying any more. I spend all most of my time learning. There is a world of free resources out there. My thanks for those resources is to try and pass some of the things I have learned on to other computer enthusiasts. I have decided that maybe the best way is to continue to 'play', but to record what I do and post it on YouTube. I will be pleased to try and help other and post topics they have an interest in. Don't be shy, ask. If possible I will help.

This a short demo of Kdenlive and Aegisub Image effects. I have used content form Bethany Meyer 's Channel. Bethany is a very entertaining young lady that Plays games, does game and movies reviews. She get so excited it makes watching and listening to her quite entertaining. The subtitles were created with Aegisub. They were then embedded in the video with Ffmpeg. Thumbnail created with Gimp and the video created with Kdenlive.
Thank you Bethany Meyer for the use of your content.
