Ele tinha apenas 4 anos. O retrato foi tirado pouco antes de ele ser morto. Istvan chegou a Auschwitz com sua mãe, Livia, e sua mãe. Outros internos convenceram Lívia a dar o menino para sua avó e passar pela seleção sozinho. Ela foi escolhida para o trabalho forçado e sobreviveu a guerra. Istvan e sua avó foram mortos nas câmaras de gás. "Kadish" é um hino de louvor a Deus encontrado em judeus serviços de oração. O tema central do Kadish é a ampliação e santificação do nome de Deus. A composição é escrita em três movimentos curtos: 1) Oração dos Inocentes - uma oração muito melancólica e melodia lenta, baseada na escala ‘Misheberak", também conhecida como “escala Gipsy”, “escala judaica” ou “escala dórica ucraniana'. 2) Ironic Totentanz - uma espécie de 'dança macabra' onde a Marimba pretende soar como um xilofone e o Trombone como um sacabucha bizarro com seu pedal notas graves. 3) Infância Perdida - como primeiro movimento, novamente uma melodia melancólica, na escala "Misheberak" nos lembra quão miseravelmente vivemos nossas vidas, enquanto a maioria das pessoas não poderiam ter a mesma chance de realizar seus sonhos. He was only 4 years old. This portrait was taken shortly before he was killed. Istvan arrived at Auschwitz with his mother, Livia, and her mother.Other inmates convinced Livia to give the boy to his grandmother and go through selection alone. She was chosen for forced labor and survived the war.Istvan and his grandmother were gassed. "Kaddish" is a hymn of praises to God found in Jewish prayer services. The central theme of the Kaddish is the magnification and sanctification of God's name. The composition is written in three shorts movements: 1) Prayer of the Innocent - a very melancolic and slow tune, based on "Misheberak" scale, a.k.a. 'gipsy scale', 'jewish scale' or 'Ukranian Dorian scale'. 2) Ironic Totentanz - a sort of 'danse macabre' where the Marimba is intended to sound like a Xylophone and the Trombone like a bizarre sackbut with its low pedal notes. 3) Lost Childhood - as the first movement, again a very melancolic tune, in "Misheberak" scale remind us about how miserably we live our lives, whereas most people couldn't have the same chance of fulfill their dreams.
