I am still in an ICE based car, is it finally time to leap into the world of EV's? I take a quick look at the 2019/2020 models that I think are exciting and affordable for what they are. Ideally sub £30k, even better under 21K!
Just missing out are the BMW i3 which is a bit pricey for its range, the smart which I need to look at more closely and the Hyundai as I feel the Kia is a better option. Other cheap city cars are dismissed as being to much of a "toy" type EV. So no Twizy here! which looks like great fun but not practical for my needs.
The ideal EV is good for over 150 miles, seats 2 or 4 in comfort, has good features and costs less than £25k. I look forward to more options in the £15k range (eg the Zoe after government grant)
So the TESLA Model 3 final comes to the UK, estimated delivery of June? I want one, but affordability is an issue....

EV's are not green, you use huge amount of resources to make them and run them! Yes you do damage the Earth by using an EV, however an EV is greener than a petrol/diesel powered car. A little video to make a case that it is high time we make a change.
I have started looking at making a move, the Governments of the world, car makers and citizens of the world need to get on board.

So I went to Fully Charged Live on Sunday, I had to travel during a British monsoon and take some doggies for a stroll before heading to Silverstone. I present a brief peek at some on the things on show at the 2019 show.
Once there I got a lift in a Tesla S from the car park and sat in a load of cars. I was impressed by the Zoe, the eNiro and the Model 3. I was intrigued by the idea of "renting" a Zoe for under £300 a month. It might be a good way for me to get into an EV earlier than planned.
I also had a god look at ebikes - both pedal and motorbikes. I even had a go on an ebike, they are fab!! I really enjoyed the gocycle, lovely ride, good performance and collapses down to a small package. I wanted to film a segment with various vendors but they were so busy and I had to much to see...maybe next year on a multi day ticket?
Going home we once more had a ride in a Tesla S and had a good old natter about the show once we hit the motorway...overall it was a good show and confirmed my desire to get in an EV by 2021 at the latest.
