Ubuntu Studio 20.10 | Hello KDE Plasma
#Ubuntu Studio has famously opted to use XFCE as it's desktop environment. However that is now about to change with the release of Ubuntu Studio 20.10. Moving forward all releases of Ubuntu will be using #KDE as it's desktop environment. I took a look at the latest daily build available ahead of it's official release which is on October with the other releases of Ubuntu Groovy Gorilla. I'll be keeping an eye on this and all of the other flavors leading up to then. As this is a daily build some things won't work as expected and may be buggy in places so bare that in mind. In this video I go through the installation process and take a look at some of the differences between this version and 20.04.

Mobian is a mobile operating system based on Debian. It uses a slimmed GNOME as the desktop environment and works well on touch screen devices. The device I have it installed on in this video is the Pinephone Braveheart edition. Out of the few mobile Linux OS's I've used on this phone this one is by far the best. I'm a more excited about running Linux on smartphones now than when I first got the Pinephone!

MicroOS is an immutable operating system from openSUSE. It aims to be a predictable operating system that features Atomic Updates. It utilises BTRFS to enable easy rollbacks to previous states your system was in. Most of your applications will be installed using flatpaks but you can add traditional packages from openSUSE by using transactional updates. There is currently 2 desktops available from the installer being GNOME or KDE.

linux-lite-5-2-a-good-distro-for-new
Linux Lite have just released a new version to their lightweight distribution which is based on Ubuntu 20.04.1. Now on version 5.2 Linux Lite aims to be a beginner friendly distribution that should help them transition over from Linux. It features the XFCE desktop environment and includes a lot of programs to help a new user get up and running. Garuda #Linux is an Arch based distribution that uses the Zen kernel and BTRFS as it's default file system. It aims to be a user friendly desktop operating system with a focus on performance and ease of use. In this video I take a look at their Ultimate KDE version which has an ISO file size of 5.3GB! Alternatively they do also offer light editions of most of their desktops if you prefer a bloat free installation.

Ubuntu Unity is an unofficial spin of Ubuntu which features the once prominent Unity Desktop Environment. On this video we are going to be taking at their latest version which is 20.10. Some of the new features in this release include the Kernel 5.8, Arc-Darker as the new default theme, it now includes the Compizconfig-settings-manager, various bug fixes and more.
