Women Built This City. Colombian women's refuge from war & rape (Trailer)
More than seven million people have been uprooted by the decades-long conflict in Colombia between government forces, FARC rebels and paramilitary groups. Women who make up half of all the displaced are especially vulnerable, as many have been subjected to sexual violence and often have nothing. That’s why lawyer Patricia Guerrero came up with an initiative to unite these women into the League of the Displaced Women. Together they built a community called the City of Women, where some hundred homes now belong only to women.
Any country is defined by the people who live there. Russia is a land that unites many diverse peoples. Each fulfil their mission and overcomes obstacles because the state gives them every opportunity to do so. At 17, Kamila Valieva is a world-standard figure skater and Olympic champion. Her journey began at a small sports school in Kazan. Now Kamila inspires the younger generation and teaches figure skating. This documentary is about the country that’s built on stories told by its own citizens. Prominent artists, actors, directors, athletes, and musicians open up about the factors that contributed to their success and talk about the influence their homeland has had on their success.
In the We Are Different film by RT Documentary, three people born with various genetic disorders adjust to life and find purpose and happiness against the odds.
According to Konstantin Severinov, Doctor of Biological Sciences, “Genetic information is stored in DNA as a sequence of chemical letters, figuratively speaking.” The human genome contains around 6 billion of these “letters”. And every unique combination of them makes one person different from another.
But when genes don’t line up as they are supposed to, it can affect appearance. Lalit from India has a condition known as werewolf syndrome. It is extremely rare, and although doctors are convinced it’s genetic, they still haven’t learned what gene mutation causes excessive hair growth or hypertrichosis. It has only been diagnosed in 50-60 people in the entire world.
Lalit’s face and body are covered with thick hair. Everyone who sees him for the first time is stunned, but they change their minds when they know Lalit better. He is friends with Umesh, a social worker, who comes over to help him adjust and teaches him yoga. Lalit used to be teased and stared at, but now he sees it as his uniqueness, something that defines him.
Watch our film and learn how two other heroes are dealing with their otherness.

Oscar and Glen visit Borodino, the scene of a showdown between the armies of Napoleon and Russian Tsar Alexander I in 1812 that proved a turning point in the fortunes of the French emperor. Today, reenactors faithfully recreate the epic battle with authentic uniforms, weapons and, of course, food.
To get them into the spirit of the times, Glen tries on the French heavy cavalry officer’s uniform and Oscar learns to shoot a period rifle. Then, the friends face off in a battlefield cooking competition. Oscar makes French onion soup as it would have been prepared by Napoleon’s troops and Glen gets a lesson on making a classic Russian army dish: buckwheat kasha with meat.
Whose dish did the troops salute? It’s all in Taste of Russia, Episode 11!
