I am looking for some open source software for linux that will allow me to organize and manage my video content (video, audio and pictures), oh and Broll. I usually get frustrated before finding the content I want, so I am turning to a movie manager called Emby which just so happens to have the ability to organize my content the way I would like to (by folder). Emby Premiere offers folder syncing, but I am going to use SyncThing to do that job for me, and set up an ACL on the directory so I can add, update and delete content as needed without having to chmod the folders after moving content. You can of course use it watch movies and listen to music as well. The thumbnail was again generated by AI to depict a much more organized studio than mine is, but hopefully after this I will finally get a handle on this monster. I got a request to review Nushell a couple of days ago. Nushell runs on Linux, MacOS and Windows. I thought it was significant enough to give it a try and make a review for it. Nushell is a new approach to shells and uses the constructs found in functional programming, namely immutable variables. Nushell attempts to reduce the cryptic nature of the unix/lynux shells in favor or legibility. Nushell is written in Rust and so it joins the other Rust based commands which are beginning to arrive for all operating systems.
