Todays video I'm near Cache Creek on the Fiske Creek Trail. Its about an hour and twenty minutes from my house up Highway 16. I spotted six Does the first day, nothing on the second day, and a ton of elk on the third day. I was looking for bucks and bears. I hiked all the way to Fiske Creek Rd. and back to Highway 16. It was 13 miles of up and down the canyon and through thick brush. At times I had to crawl on all fours to get through where it seemed no human had been in years. I found ton of bear sign about 4 miles into the hike and bedding areas where the straw was matted down to the ground.
This was the first time I've ever seen an Elk in person. I couldn't remember if I heard them first or if I saw them. They came over the hillside where I had been sitting in my car for about an hour. I quickly whipped out my phone and started recording then I thought "grab the spotting scope." I mounted my phone to the scope to get a closer look. What I got was amazing, but I only got 1080p unfortunately my phone wasn't set to 4k. Apparently these elk are common there, and you can see one has a tracking collar.
