In this episode, we'll explore the biblical perspective on the relationship between church members and their pastors, drawing insights from Hebrews 13:7. This verse emphasizes the significance of following, obeying, submitting to, knowing, esteeming, and ultimately, following your pastor. We'll uncover the lessons embedded in this scripture that provide guidance for both pastors and congregants.
Highlights
Follow Your Pastor: Hebrews 13:7 reminds us of our responsibility to follow our pastors. Just as they follow God's guidance, we must align ourselves with their leadership.
Choosing Your Congregation: If you find yourself unable to follow your pastor, it raises questions about why you're part of that congregation. God places pastors in churches, and as members, we have a duty to follow them.
Qualifications for Following: The Bible sets two qualifications for following a pastor. First, ensure that the pastor's faith aligns with the Word of God. Second, evaluate their conduct; their life should reflect the values they preach.
No Obligation to Follow Immorality: You are not obligated to follow an immoral or evil leader. Instead of attempting to disrupt or oust them, seek a pastor whose values and conduct align with God's principles.
Addressing Concerns: If you have reservations about your pastor's behavior or teaching, approach them respectfully. Remember that accountability and open communication are vital within the church community.
Mutual Accountability: In the church, we are all accountable to one another. This mutual accountability ensures that pastors and congregants uphold the principles of faith and morality.
Responsibilities Toward Pastors: Summarily, the Bible outlines several responsibilities for church members. These include remembering, obeying, submitting to, knowing, esteeming, and ultimately following your pastors. These actions are not optional but required in the life of a believer.

1 Have mercy upon me, O God,
According to Your lovingkindness;
According to the multitude of Your tender mercies,
Blot out my transgressions.
2 Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity,
And cleanse me from my sin.
3 For I acknowledge my transgressions,
And my sin is always before me.
4 Against You, You only, have I sinned,
And done this evil in Your sight—
That You may be found just [a]when You speak,
And blameless when You judge.
5 Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity,
And in sin my mother conceived me.
6 Behold, You desire truth in the inward parts,
And in the hidden part You will make me to know wisdom.
7 Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean;
Wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.
8 Make me hear joy and gladness,
That the bones You have broken may rejoice.
9 Hide Your face from my sins,
And blot out all my iniquities.
10 Create in me a clean heart, O God,
And renew a steadfast spirit within me.
11 Do not cast me away from Your presence,
And do not take Your Holy Spirit from me.
12 Restore to me the joy of Your salvation,
And uphold me by Your generous Spirit.
13 Then I will teach transgressors Your ways,
And sinners shall be converted to You.
14 Deliver me from the guilt of bloodshed, O God,
The God of my salvation,
And my tongue shall sing aloud of Your righteousness.
15 O Lord, open my lips,
And my mouth shall show forth Your praise.
16 For You do not desire sacrifice, or else I would give it;
You do not delight in burnt offering.
17 The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit,
A broken and a contrite heart—
These, O God, You will not despise.
18 Do good in Your good pleasure to Zion;
Build the walls of Jerusalem.
19 Then You shall be pleased with the sacrifices of righteousness,
With burnt offering and whole burnt offering;
Then they shall offer bulls on Your altar.
Psalm 51: 1-19 (NKJV)

This episode delivers a spiritual message centered around the theme of giving and receiving within the context of Christian faith. It begins with a reference to a song by Ron Hamilton on the labor of love involved in molding a masterpiece, metaphorically aligning this process with how the Holy Spirit works within believers to make them more like Jesus Christ.
The narrative then transitions into a devotion series titled 'Married and Miserable,' specifically addressing abuse and the Biblical principle of giving as a prerequisite for receiving blessings from God. The speaker cites various scriptures, including John 3:16 and First Timothy 6:17-18, to emphasize the importance of not placing conditions on God's blessings but obeying His commandments to fully experience His gifts.
The video highlights the Apostle Paul's teachings on giving and receiving, using his letters to the Philippians and Corinthians as examples of how giving not only meets immediate needs but also contributes to the spiritual account of the giver. It concludes with a reminder of the joy and spiritual growth that comes from living according to the principle of giving, as taught in the Christian faith.

This script is a devotion that focuses on the theme of trials, temptation, and faith. The speaker refers to Psalms 25, First Peter Chapter 1, Verse 6, and James Chapter 1, Verse 2 to 4. He interprets these verses as teachings for Christians to trust in God during trials and temptations, instead of feeling ashamed or attributing suffering to sin, like Job's friends did. The speaker suggests that trials are tests of faith and that they can only be temporary compared to eternal glory. He concludes by stating the believer will face grief and sorrow but it is part of proving their faith. He prays for understanding and patience during trials aiming to glorify God.
