Chemists have found a set of simple reactions that, using the raw materials available, can produce close cousins of all four of the nucleotide found in RNA.
It is not a perfect match to the building blocks in RNA however it is enough to believe these scientists are gettinging close to identifying the processes that started life.
Lure Charge approached our sister channel with some big claims, to use science to increase the number of fish you catch.
Naturally we need to test this. This is the lab side of that test. So does the voltage tuner catch more fish? Does the voltage tuner put a current into the water? How does it work? We find out all this and more today in Mikey's lab!

What is up makers!
Full write up is here: http://www.mikeyslab.info/?p=17439
My name is Mikey and this is my lab! I have over twenty years of professional development experience, in a variety of languages and platforms. I found hobby electronics a few years back, and now fully believe every coder should make their own hardware.
When programming for the Arduino, there are a lot of things that change a little, and a few things that change a lot. These can be game changers. In this course I will not only go over the basics of C++ I will also highlight these changes, and focus on areas of interest some other C++ tutorials tend to gloss over, like bitwise operations.
This is going to be a huge series. I am going to try to stick to a weekly schedule and post these along side my usual project content. But life might get busy, so if I miss a week, hope you understand.

It is very apparent that making is a huge part of my life :) and Maker Expo is a huge part of making in KW!
So the 2020 Maker Expo will be at the Kitchener Memorial Auditorium on May 30th and 31st 2020.
How big the even will be is up to you. I has been announced that they have reached the first funding goal, allowing them to have one of the twin pads, the next goal is the second pad.
This event always has been free to attend and they are continuing that this year. However to reach the funding goal they need your help, if you can spare $5, $10 or more, well you already know your awesome.
I will be there both days, hoping to volunteer, but at the very least walking around, come say hi!

What is up makers! This weekend at #FanExpoLimitedEdition, I got the opportunity to interview Adam Savage from @Adam Savage’s Tested. He has long been someone I have looked up to. I will never pass up an opportunity to have a conversation with this man!

Between 29 and 54 percent of people are thought to crack their knuckles. Reasons include a nervous habit and seeking relief from tension.
Men do this more often than women.
To find out if knuckle-cracking is harmful, researchers have studied whether cracking of the knuckle joints can raise the risk for hand osteoarthritis.
The results of these studies conclude that—regardless of the frequency or duration of cracking—knuckle crackers' risk for arthritis is no higher than for non-crackers. There's no known connection between knuckle cracking and hand arthritis. The same holds true for any other joint that pops, like the hip or knee.

Today in the lab we look at why dynamic allocation of memory in constrained memory environments is bad. The most common example is the use of the String C library. Lets discuss the Arduino memory structure, look at the difference between the heap and the stack, what can go wrong, and how it can be avoided!

ADHD is something that affects every aspect of your life, while I look at it like a difference in cognition more than a disorder, there are some strategies that can help with making, and finishing projects.
If you have not checked out Jessica's channel, I strongly encourage you to:
