Keeping old computers running can sometimes be a difficult task due to the fact old chips fail. Having something that can quickly test the myriad of chips on in these old computers would be really helpful in keeping these machines alive. This device promises to do just that, watch to find out if it delivers.

You can buy the boards from the creator directly: (see link above, price as of Dec 2021) Comes with the PCB pre-assembled, MPU, a DC/DC board and a micro USB for about $40
I ended up with a scratch on the entire length of the driver's side of my Subaru Forester. My friend recommended I try Meguiars Scratch X 2.0 to remove it. I'm an absolute noob when it comes to caring for my car's paint, so this was uncharted territory for me. I usually just wash my car periodically and don't worry about things -- but this long scratch is quite unsightly.

It can be tough to remove through hole ICs from boards without causing any damage. I'm using a desoldering iron, so if you don't have one, you will need something to remove solder. (Braid, manual pump, etc.) These usually leave some solder behind on double sided boards making it very hard to get chips out without causing damage.
I use a combination of removing as much solder as I can from the bottom and hot air on the top to get the chips out without causing any damage.

I was given some information about a very unusual way to possibly fix bad chips. Let's try some experiments and see if this actually works to revive some bad Commodore/MOS chips.

On today's video, it's time to break out the Amiga 2000 and test out a couple bridgeboards sent in from a viewer. Last time I tested one of these, I failed miserably to even get it working at all. Will I have more success today?

I've been a longtime user of the TS100 soldering iron, and have been happy with it. This viewer donation is a nice step up and improvement over the TS100. I'm very impressed with it, especially considering the price.
Note, this may be the last Mid-Week-Mini-Mail-Call. I'll be posting most Mail call items on the second channel from now on.
