I had used Down With The Sickness in my very first AMV alongside Death Note in 2008, and figured it might be a decent time to try cooking up something new with it after almost 5 years. I hit some artist's block with this one thanks to college taking priority, and unfortunately never got back to it. But you never know what the future might bring, even after 10 years.
I actually don't have any records of this video beyond having done it some time in 2011, per the file name. This placement just makes the most sense based on what I recall. It's too bad, because it's actually pretty badass, and I feel like it deserves better than to be the odd one out for this year.
This is a video I'm still incredibly proud of 11 years later. It's the product of an entire month of work, and in spite of the sources I used not being all that great, I still think it holds up on its editing alone. I'd love to re-make it shot-for-shot in DVD quality just to polish it up, but part of me feels like I'd never be able to do the original justice without working on it for just as long as I did originally. Needless to say, this is one of my favorites out of everything I've ever done.
"Wow, hard to believe this is my first HD upload. Sure took long enough eh?
And yeah this is pretty much why I didn't upload anything throughout June. Well, this and kinda hitting a dry patch with ideas. Hope you like it, don't forget to comment, rate, share, and subscribe.
Anime: Slayers, Slayers NEXT, Slayers TRY, Slayers Royal, Meet Again, Slayers Evolution-R
Music: "His World" (version 2) by Zebrahead from the infamous Sonic the Hedgehog 2006
I own NOTHING. Slayers belongs to Hajime Kanzaka and Rui Araizumi, as well as FUNimation Entertainment. "His World" belongs to Zebrahead and Sega." - 7/4/2011
After some experimentation, as seen in the two previous uploads to this one, I finally settled on this as the final product. It's never really stuck in my mind as one of my better ones, more on par with the One Punch Man video, probably because of the fact that it does kind of lose steam toward the end when I ran out of footage to work with.
"My first time playing this game. I've played Super Castlevania 4, the NES games, Symphony of the Night, and Lords of Shadow. No negativity, I'm trying to learn and adapt." - 10/26/2018
