"***New Order***"are an English rock band formed in 1980 by vocalist and guitarist ***[Bernard Sumner](https://cutt.ly/9b9XrVA)***, bassist ***[Peter Hook](https://cutt.ly/9b9XrVA)*** and drummer ***[Stephen Morris](https://cutt.ly/eb9XiCi)***. The band formed after the demise of post-punk band ***"[Joy Division](https://cutt.ly/eb9XiCi)"***, following the suicide of lead singer ***Ian Curtis***; they were joined by ***[Gillian Gilbert](https://cutt.ly/mb9XsDe)*** on keyboards later that year.
***”New Order's”*** integration of post-punk with electronic and dance music made them one of the most acclaimed and influential bands of the 1980s.
Embracing the electronic textures and disco rhythms of the underground club culture many years in advance of its contemporaries, the group's pioneering fusion of new wave aesthetics and dance music successfully bridged the gap between the two worlds, creating a distinctively thoughtful and oblique brand of synth pop appealing equally to the mind, body, and soul.
***"Get Ready"*** the band's seventh studio album is a very straight-ahead album, their first work in 15 years that's focused on songwriting and performance rather than grafted dance techniques.
**Bernard Sumner's** guitar is prominent and gritty, thrashing through songs like ***"[Crystal](https://cutt.ly/SntOn5f)"*** with a driving, almost garage-y tone. Drummer/programmer **Stephen Morris** sticks to the traps more often than usual, always complementing his programmed beats with live playing.
The band made a pretty solid effort from a veteran band that really has nothing left to prove. Unfortunately, the songwriting at times reveals scattered holes, and the songs can draw on for too long. But if nothing else, the album proves that ***“New Order”*** are still capable of putting out enjoyable music.
***”Run Wild”*** is tenth and the last song on the band’s seventh studio album ***"[Get Ready](https://cutt.ly/6nevj06)"***, released on 27 August 2001 in the United Kingdom by ***"London Records"*** and on 16 October 2001 in the United States by ***"Reprise Records"***.

# ***The Charlatans Biography***
***"The Charlatans"*** are an English rock band formed in the **[West Midlands](https://cutt.ly/NIvCiHx)** in 1988 by bassist ***[Martin Blunt](https://cutt.ly/9IvCmt0)***, who recruited fellow West Midlanders ***[Rob Collins](https://cutt.ly/NIvCItb)*** (keyboards), ***[Jon Brookes](https://cutt.ly/wIvCJVe)*** (drums), Jon Day (guitar) and singer-guitarist ***Baz Ketley***. ***Ketley*** left the band and was replaced by singer ***[Tim Burgess](https://cutt.ly/pIvX8R9)***.
Although the ***Charlatans*** would later become popularly associated with the *[Madchester scene](https://cutt.ly/YIb7ZuY)*, the band's early demos recorded in 1988 in *Birmingham* and *Dudley* already evidenced the sound that the band ultimately became famous for, dominated by ***Collins*** *Hammond organ*.
With their fusion of 1960s *soul*, *R&B* and *garage rock*, the band saw themselves firmly in the West Midlands tradition that included Birmingham bands ***[The Spencer Davis Group](https://cutt.ly/EIvVvS7)*** and early ***[Dexys Midnight Runners](https://cutt.ly/UIvVQUl)***.
> On the band’s second album, ***“Between 10th and 11th”***, Blunt’s bass sounds stronger and ***Collin’s*** keyboards stand out more, either shading or leading the songs perfectly.
>
> ***["Weirdo"](https://cutt.ly/SIv6cIr)*** the album's lead single and strongest point, has a brilliant lead organ break from ***Collins*** and series of great funk stabs that became his strongest performance ever.
> Equally fine is the electric piano start to ***["Tremolo Song"](https://cutt.ly/mIv5SYa)*** leading to a deep ***Blunt*** bass and sassy flow of a song. ***Brookes*** and ***Collins*** also fill out their parts equally well, with **[Flood's](https://cutt.ly/8IE29nR)** production strengthening and creating excellent arrangements for everyone as a whole.
>
> Criticism within and without settling on his production style as well, his crisp, technically sharp abilities seem to go against the band's natural flow, but in hindsight, between is much stronger than its reputation, with many fans proclaiming it their favorite.

***"Stereolab"*** are an English-French avant-pop band formed in London in 1990.
Led by the songwriting team of ***[Tim Gane](https://cutt.ly/BmFnRwl)*** (guitar and keyboards) and ***[Lætitia Sadie](https://cutt.ly/dmFnYuG)r***(vocals, keyboards and guitar), the group's music combines influences from *krautrock*, *lounge* and *1960s pop music*, often incorporating a repetitive motorik beat with heavy use of vintage electronic keyboards and female vocals sung in English and French.
Their lyrics have political and philosophical themes influenced by the ***[Surrealist](https://cutt.ly/imFnOlx)*** and ***[Situationist](https://cutt.ly/ymFnAt5)*** movements.
Although ***"Stereolab"*** found success in the underground music scene and were influential enough to spark a renewed interest in older analogue instruments, they have never had a significant commercial impact. Meaby the key is lost in the interview where ***Gane*** and ***Sadier*** have discussed their musical philosophy - *"to be unique for us was more important than to be good"*.
While the two years between ***"[Dots and Loops](https://cutt.ly/Mm9iHCw)"*** and ***"[Cobra](https://cutt.ly/bm9i2Wp)"*** resulted in stagnation, the two years separating ***"Cobra"*** and the band’s seventh album ***"Sound-Dust"*** find ***"Stereolab"*** deliberately recharging their creative juices, delving deeper into avant-garde composition and '60s swing pop in equal measures.
If it's taken on a pure sonic level, the album can often be quite pleasing and intriguing, especially the sophisticated horn and flute arrangements, which producer ***O'Rourke*** makes lushly alluring.
It's hard not to wish that the entire record was constructed simply of instrumentals of this sort, since that's when ***"Stereolab"*** sounds fully recharged and gorgeous. As it stands, the album is held back by their insistence on simple songs and simple vocals that keep the record earthbound and solely the province of the already converted.
***”Les Bons Bons Des Raisons”*** is the thirteenth and the last song on the band's seventh studio album, ***"[Sound-Dust](https://cutt.ly/Bm9oray)"***, released on 28 August 2001 by ***"[Duophonic Records](https://cutt.ly/nmFZnnE)"*** and ***"[Elektra Records](https://cutt.ly/AmFZWIh)"***.
It was ***"Stereolab"*** last album to feature singer and guitarist ***[Mary Hansen](https://cutt.ly/bmBRfKp)***, who died in a biking accident the following year.
