Previously, Heorot carried out Chains of Promathia Mission 8-1: "Garden of Antiquity". He explored Al'Taieu, Lumoria, and unlocked the entrance to the Grand Palace of Hu'Xzoi. Now, for Promathia Mission 8-2: "A Fate Decided", he will explore the palace itself.

Grand Palace of Hu'Xzoi:

Heorot resumes in the entrance hall of the Grand Palace of Hu'Xzoi, Lumoria. FFXIclopedia lists this as the third map. Heorot goes through the eastern Particle Gate at H-8.

On the other side, he finds himself at I-10 on the first map. Only a few enemy types are aggressive, which is a big help. Eo'ghrah can take various forms. They are aggressive unless they are in sphere form. They have true hearing, so Sneak is useless. The color of their internal light indicates their elemental affinity. They cast spells, but they are susceptible to silence.

Another type of aggressive enemy is the egg-shaped Eo'zdei. They often guard alcoves. They have true sight, so Invisible is also useless.

The Cermet Portals are sealed to adventurers. To get through them, Heorot must find Cermet Alcoves and spawn Quasilumin. A Quasilumin will follow a set patrol route to another alcove. Along the way, it will open gates as necessary. When the Quasilumin reaches the alcove at the end of its route, the player must examine it again, and it will open a nearby Cermet Portal so he can progress.

Along the way, players must clear out or neutralize aggressive enemies—Eo'ghrah and Eo'zdei—to keep them from killing the Quasilumin. Players can talk to the Quasilumin to make it pause in its route. When they talk to it again, it will continue.

After some futzing around, Heorot finds the first Cermet Alcove at J-8 (time 19:10). The Quasilumin follows a short route north to the alcove at J-7. After Heorot talks to the Quasilumin again, the eastern Cermet Gate at J-8 opens.

At L-7, Heorot finds a teleporter. It transports him downstairs to L-6/L-7 on the second map.

Heorot finds the second Cermet Alcove guarded by an Eo'zdei at M-7/M-8 on the second map. This spawns a Quasilumin that has a longer patrol route that generally goes west. It will open doorways as it progresses. There are some Eo'ghrah ahead, so be sure not to let them kill the Quasilumin. It is a good idea to clear out the reachable Eo'ghrah before spawning the Quasilumin.

During this segment, Heorot reaches Level 92 as Red Mage.

The second Quasilumin goes into an alcove at J-8. Once it has reached its destination, talking to it opens the Cermet Portal to the east at J-8.

The Cermet Alcove at J-10 spawns the third Quasilumin. This one als
