FTL stands for "Follow The Leader". I learned this training technique from Mr. Wiggles of the Electric Boogaloos. This popping training series is designed specifically to strengthen your pop, your rhythm, and your ability to freestyle.
FTL-4 is designed specifically for poppers with trouble training with our regular FTL program. FTL-4 pauses for 4 beats instead of the normal 2 beats in our regular FTL series.
How to use this popping training series:
Watch the center screen to see what the leader is doing. When I pop on the 1,2,3,4, you pop on the 5,6,7,8. You will be 4 beats behind. Just simply follow the movements, focus on the power of your pop, and stay on beat. Do NOT try to guess what the leader will do. Don't stop until the end of the training. Try this multiple times throughout the day. You will improve if you never quit. Use a different episode to gain more movements as you get better with your popping skills. Now, put on your dancing shoes and let's get popping.

Vlog - Popping Dance Tutorial Day with Sammy Ramirez
I got to collaborate with Sammy Ramirez, who appeared on So You Think You Can Dance a few years back (not sure what year). I consider Sammy to be a great friend, more than that, he is like a brother. Sammy is an incredible dancer, choreographer, and a great mentor to the dancers that he has influenced.
Lisa Malzone Morales, another incredible loving human being, helped Sammy with his dance studio out of Hollister, California. She is a wonderful support for the dance community not only in Hollister but the entire Bay Area in Northern California.
Today, Sammy and I worked out producing a popping dance tutorial. We talked about the popping drills we used and teach to get beginning poppers to start. We started with arms, then legs, then chest, and then the neck. We incorporated these techniques into a popping dance routine for beginnings to try out.
For more information about Sammy's dance studio in Hollister, you can find his website at http://sammysadc.wixsite.com/animationdance

In this video, we went over the last 4 - 8 counts of dance choreography from class. We started from the hitch-hike ot the sneak and peek. We performed this routine 1 - 8 count at a time. First, we demonstrated it at half speed. Then we did it again at regular speed. Enjoy this video, watch it first, then perform it with us.

In this playlist, I want to introduce the dancers and have them share their experiences with our community. Together, we can build, encourage, and strengthen each other. Let's open up the dialog and communicate effectively. Let us learn from one another in our pursuit of happiness.
Today, we are chatting with John Magat, aka Shyguy. He is a dancer/choreographer/instructor in the Bay Area for over 15 years. We talked about his dance history/journey.
