More vintage trucks and liveries from the past. This time, it's one of Diecast Promotions fallen flags.

Howard Johnson was founded by Howard Deering Johnson in 1925. When he borrowed $2,000 to buy a corner pharmacy in Massachusetts, his loan was repaid quickly after he installed a soda fountain in his drug store.

Eager to ensure that his business remained profitable. He devised a new ice cream recipe that made the ice cream more flavorful due to the increased butterfat content. Eventually Johnson created 28 flavors of ice cream.

The Baker with the Pie image was sculpted by Charles Piazzano and became the symbol representing Howard Johnson's. The company's trademark Simple Simon and the Pieman logo was created in the 1930s by artist John Alcott, and can be seen on the private label trucks, hauling Howard Johnson's ice cream. Like the one that die-cast promotions made.

Here we go guys, this is the 1:64th Scale Truck for Howard Johnson's 40-foot reefer van with White Freightliner COE by DCP By first gear. The van trailer is all chrome. It comes in their standard Diecast Promotions box with the mural in the back. And it is item number 60-0818. And it's one of the fallen flags series because Howard Johnson’s has been out of business for a long time.

This was a new release in September 2020. It comes in the standard two-piece blister, which is taped, but I've already opened and cut that tape so that we can skip right on ahead. Inside the blister, you can also see. It does have the two extra mirrors in a package up there. Like they do on all their trucks.

I'm going to go on and start off with the trailer, like I always do. Cause that's my favorite thing to start with. This is the 40-foot vintage trailer that they have and this is the DCP tooling, not the first gear tooling 40-foot trailer. They chrome
