With these apps you can initiate commands from WITHIN your Oculus Go or Oculus Quest to do the following things:
Change the VRAPI/Eye Buffer resolution
Change the video recording resolution (1280x720 or 1920x1080)
Change the CPU/GPU level (0-3 on the Quest, 0-4 on the Go)
Enable full framerate video capture
Change the video capture bitrate
Change the fixed foveated rendering settings
Enable/Disable dynamic clock throttling
With the right combination of these settings you can maximize your performance (framerate) and/or maximize your visual fidelity. Depending on your settings this can extend your heat and battery life or reduce it.
Once you have these apps sideloaded onto your device and have enabled ADB over TCPIP on port 5555 you can DISCONNECT your device from your PC, you no longer need it to be connected. However whenever you RESTART your device it will boot up with ADB DISABLED and you must connect it again to your PC and run the bat file to enable ADB over TCPIP. You must do this every time you restart your Oculus Quest or Oculus Go in order to use these apps. This is how they communicate with your device. Also every time you restart your device, all the settings revert back to default. None of this is permanent.
You *MUST* know how to sideload BEFORE using ANY of these apps.

Included in the zip file is the adb files needed to sideload. You can try to just connect your device to your PC and then run the bat file to install all the apk files and also the bat file to enable ADB over TCPIP on your device. Your device MUST FIRST be in developer mode. Whatch the sideloading videos linked above!

I tried this slider in the 12.0 Firmware update and lo and behold it actually adjusts the brightness of the display. This is the video of that.
You will need to sideload AppStarter in order to gain access to this setting:

Before you can sideload onto your Oculus Quest, you must FIRST put it into DEVELOPER MODE. Now the way to put it into developer mode is EXACTLY THE SAME for the Oculus Go, so here is a 60 second video showing how to put the Oculus Go into Developer Mode, it is EXACTLY THE SAME for the Oculus Quest:

This is where it all started, with a bat file made for the GearVR by reddit user _QUAKE_ with info given by user firagabird.
https://www.reddit.com/r/GearVR/comments/7qrekt/script_to_change_texture_resolution_while_in_vr/
SideQuest has some similar features but the ones it does have, they are in a much more limited capacity. For example you cannot directly specify which resolutions you want to increase to, you have to select from preconfigured options. With this app, you can literally type in whatever resolution you want to try either for texture resolution or internal recording resolution. Some people have also experience problems sideloading with SideQuest, then when trying this app, it works fine. Not exactly sure why an app dedicated to sideloading would have problems sideloading unless it's some type of license verification implementation that is causing an issue? Please let me know what other features you would like me to put into this app if possible. Also please inform me of any bugs or problems you come across. As mentioned I give no warranty with this software and assume ZERO liability for you using it. You take full responsibility for whatever you do with this app and whatever the results are of the use of it.
