STORY: Gazans turn to wood-fired bakeries, as the Palestinian enclave suffered from power cuts and dwindling food supplies after more than a week of retaliatory airstrikes and an Israeli blockade.
With power cuts and no fuel to operate on generators, Palestinians baker, Mohammed Al-Ayal, works all day using a wood-fired oven to provide bread for the residents of Khan Younis.
"I can't feed them or give them water. We have no fuel or water. Have mercy on us. Where are the people?" pleaded father of six, Awad Barbakh, who came to buy bread for his family.
Israel has placed Gaza, home to 2.3 million Palestinians, under a total blockade and pounded it with unprecedented air strikes after Hamas fighters stormed Israeli towns eight days ago, killing 1,300 people in the worst attack on civilians in the country's history.
Gaza authorities say at least 2,800 people have been killed there, around a quarter of them children.
