They need to do a study on why Generation Z and Baby Boomers are leaving the work force... I can sum it up in once sentence... Working for a living (Insert 4 letter word here!) American's are more than just burnt out, we are fed up! Here is the real truth behind the great resignation: 1. There is no job security 2. Poor work environments 3. Bad pay 4. Little to no growth 5. Long hours 6. Requirement that goes against personal reasons 7. Terrible treatment 8. Entitled customers These are the real reasons why Americans are quitting in record highs Also, many of us have been freed of so much baggage during the layoff. Yes, it was tough on most of us, but we lived through and now, I, personally, ask myself why go back to that? Why go back to 60 hours a week? It just doesn't make sense anymore. I have sons I like watching grow up. It has been a joy seeing them turn into young men. Why would I through that away for some flashy car that will not be worth half of what I paid for it at the end of its term? As a blue collar worker, my boss expected me to work with a truck that was not designed to carry such a workload. There was a hole in the floor and it acted like a window as I drove on the freeways. 12 degree weather with no heat and a hole in the floor. Yet, I did it because I needed the money! Now, I am doing something that I am good at, I think. I enjoy what I do and can do this all day if need be. I don't make much, but its honest and have much less stress. I couldn't even imagine what white collar workers are expected to do. Sure, they make more, but they also have more expenses. Does it really pay off to work so hard to never ever see your family?
