The Christian faith is personal, but it is never individualistic. We are not meant to just follow the Lord on our own, praying and reading the Scriptures, without being connected with others in the body of Christ. God's grace is poured out not just on us individually but also when we gather together as God's people through various sacred activities. In fact, there are four sacred activities where God pours out His grace in special ways only because we are together in the presence of the Lord. To miss these activities is to miss out on the possible special outpouring of God's grace during such times.
Even though we may be sure that a certain soul movement is from the Lord, we may still examine the timing of our response. Discernment is still necessary in such cases.

1 Lord, who may dwell in your sacred tent? Who may live on your holy mountain? 2 The one whose walk is blameless, who does what is righteous, who speaks the truth from their heart; 3 whose tongue utters no slander, who does no wrong to a neighbor, and casts no slur on others; 4 who despises a vile person but honors those who fear the Lord; who keeps an oath even when it hurts, and does not change their mind; 5 who lends money to the poor without interest; who does not accept a bribe against the innocent. Whoever does these things will never be shaken. (Psalm 15:1-5)
Many Christians fall into the trap of not being mindful of their spiritual lives. They live each day unaware of the condition of their souls. Consequently, they fail to address issues or concerns early on that might affect their relationship with the Lord. We should practice the Prayer of Examen daily so that we would be aware of God's work in our lives and so cooperate with Him more faithfully.

Reasons for True Worship | By Pastor Bong Baylon | RLCC
Text: Psalm 33:1-22
Worship is very important in the Christian life. But what is even more important are the reasons why we are doing it. Some Christians love to worship because of the feelings they get out of it. They love the music and the ambiance of a "worship event". But true worship must have its reasons and those reasons must be valid both biblically and personally. Only when we know why we are worshiping the Lord can we truly say that we are worshiping Him in spirit and truth.

Text: Luke 12:1-12
Anyone who truly wants to follow the Lord will be persecuted. Persecution comes in many forms. It may come as a subtle form of rejection from those who do not understand our faith, even from our family members or close friends. In some cases, it may come in the form of violent attacks against us because we are followers of our Lord Jesus Christ. Knowing this, we may become afraid and lose heart. We must learn how to overcome our fear of persecution.

Central Idea: “When we fear only God, we have nothing else to fear.” (“Kapag ang kinakatakutan natin ay Diyos lamang, wala na tayong dapat katakutan pa.”)
How can we overcome our fear of persecution?
Fours Ways
1. Renounce hypocrisy before God and people (vv.1-3).
2. Recognize God's greater authority (vv.4-5).
3. Remember your true security before God (vv.6-7).
4. Remain calm when confronted publicly (vv.8-12).

Not all types of consolations are from the Lord. We must learn to discern when the enemy of our souls is trying to deceive us through false consolations.

Text: Luke 12:49-13:9
When a person hears the Gospel, he or she is faced with a crisis. Will he or she believe and entrust everything to the Lord or will he or she just continue on as if the Lord did not confront him or her with the Gospel? This is the crisis of faith. We have to decide and we need to decide in the right way, that is, we must believe rather than reject the Gospel now. Not deciding is already a decision and we will be held accountable for rejecting the truth.

Central Idea: “The crisis of faith is the crisis of discernment and decision-making.” (“Ang krisis ng pananampalataya ay krisis ng paghiwatig at paggawa ng desisyon.”)
Why do we need to decide now?
Three Reasons
1. Enough grace is already working (12:49-53).
2. Enough evidence is already available (12:54-59).
3. Enough time is already being given (13:1-9).

Principles of True Worship | By Pastor Bong Baylon | RLCC
Date: Oct 28, 2022
Text: Psalm 50:1-23
Worship is central to our commitment as followers of Christ. But most of the time we see worship as merely an experience. Therefore, we judge it as excellent or boring, depending on the quality of the program. It is not focused on God. Instead, our focus is on ourselves, and how we feel while worshiping. We need to understand the principles of true worship.

What must we remember about true worship?
Three Principles
1. True worship is first of all an invitation from God (vv.1-6).
2. True worship is a thankful response to God's invitation (vv.7-15).
3. True worship is responding in obedience to God (vv.16-23).
Central Idea: “True worship is our thankful and obedient response to God.” (“Ang totoong pagsamba ay pagtugon natin sa Diyos nang may pasasalamat at pagsunod sa Kanya.”)
