: Privacy groups have pulled out of talks with members of the tech industry regarding the regulations surrounding facial recognition technology. For the past 16 months, privacy advocates have been working with the tech industry to craft privacy safeguards for the commercial use of the software in a way that won't hurt consumers. The discussions have all been mediated by the Commerce Department's National Telecommunications and Information Administration. But those talks broke down this week. Boom Bust’s Ameera David weighs in.
Then, Erin Ade is joined by Ray Rothrock – CEO of RedSeal. Ray gives us his take on if the US Navy is prepared to take on vulnerabilities of their control systems and tells us how vulnerable the global shipping industry is to cyberattacks.
