These are prone to failure due to not being water tight and being exposed to the elements including water, road salt, grime, grease, etc!
Common failure modes include - no wipers, only one or no headlights come on, radiator fan won't cut on - pretty much anything that doesn't happen that should.

Quick method to troubleshoot if it is the starter, starter relay or a safety interlock/starter button.
I misspoke in this video. If you have resistance on the starter relay coil and power on only ONE of the main lugs then it is likely a safety interlock.

Not every step of this process is covered - you will require the service manual in order to do this right. Between this video and the manual you should be able to do the valve shim adjustment WITHOUT removing the engine.
