THE HAPPY SATELLITE NERD EPISODE 72
Wildfeed refers to an unannounced transmission of a television program via C band or Ku band satellite. These programs include sporting events, news, and syndicated shows and are often unedited.
They exist to allow network television stations to send content to smaller local stations.[citation needed] The shows contain no commercials, just a small gap of blank video to allow the local station to insert their own. The exception for this is for "barter" syndicated programming, where only the commercials required to be shown are included, with black space provided to mark local commercial time.
Some universities, colleges and larger schools have the equipment available to receive these signals, as do a few individuals.[citation needed] Some people record the preaired show onto their computers and upload it to the internet to allow people around the world early access. However, this is a copyright violation. Apparently[citation needed] due to this many networks have switched to a digital feed which requires more expensive equipment and can also be encrypted if needed. This has reduced the availability of preair episodes appearing on the internet.
In the context of broadcasting, backhaul refers to uncut program content that is transmitted point-to-point to an individual television station or radio station, broadcast network or other receiving entity where it will be integrated into a finished TV show or radio show. The term is independent of the medium being used to send the backhaul, but communications satellite transmission is very common. When the medium is satellite, it is called a wildfeed.
Backhauls are also referred to sometimes as "clean feeds", being "clean" in the sense that they lack any of the post-production elements that are added later to the feed's content (i.e. on-screen graphics, voice-overs, bumpers, etc.) during the integration of the backhaul feed into a finished show. In live sports production, a backhaul is used to obtain live game footage (usually for later repackaging in highlights shows) when an off-air source is not readily available. In this instance the feed that is being obtained contains all elements except for TV commercials or radio ads run by the host network's master control. This is particularly useful for obtaining live coverage of post-game press conferences or extended game highlights ("melts"), since the backhaul may stay up to feed these events after the network has concluded their broadcast.
Electronic news gathering, including "live via satellite" interviews, reporters' live shots, and sporting events are all examples of radio or television content that is backhauled to a station or network before being made available to the public through that station or network. Cable TV

Obsolete but Neat
I still use a CRT TUBE TV downstairs. I like having both HD and SD TV's It is good for watching old TV shows on that are shot in 4:3 aspect ratio. Just hope you don't brake your table or fingers when setting it down.
Picture-in-picture (PiP) is a feature of some television receivers and similar devices. One program (channel) is displayed on the full TV screen at the same time as one or more other programs are displayed in inset windows. Sound is usually from the main program only.
Picture-in-picture requires two independent Tuners or signal sources to supply the large and the small picture. Two-tuner PiP TVs have a second tuner built in, but a single-tuner PiP TV requires an external signal source, which may be an external tuner, videocassette recorder, DVD player, or a cable box. Picture-in-picture is often used to watch one program while waiting for another to start, or advertisements to finish.

They want more cord cutters.
"Rate hikes are in store for many cable and satellite TV service customers in 2018, with some providers planning rate hikes as high as 15% for some packages.
Dish Network, Comcast, DirecTV and Cox Communications have all made known their plans for increases in the coming year, with others sure to follow. For the most part, the rate increases are small and vary between packages, with most increases in the $1 to $5 per month range.
No word yet from Charter Communications, but any planned increases could come after the holidays.
Dish Network was the latest pay TV provider to announce increases, planning to raise rates by $3 (15%) for its Welcome Pack from $19.99 to $22.99, while its most popular tier – Americas Top 120 – rises $5 from $69.99 per month to $74.99 per month according to website TVAnswerman.com.
At Comcast, rates are generally rising about $5 per month for its bundled packages, including its X1 Starter Triple Play package (from $150 to $155 per month) and its X1 Premier Quad Play package (from $249.95 to $254.95).
DirecTV earlier this month announced plans to increase rates for several packages, including, with monthly increases ranging from $2 for its Select Choice package to $8 for its Ultimate Premier package. Its basic Family package will remain at the same price.
At Cox, price increases range from $1 per month for its skinny bundle Flex Watch package (from $40 to $41) to $5 per month for its Contour TV (from $79.99 to $84.99) and Contour TV Ultimate (from $161.99 to $166.99) packages., according to DSL Reports. Cox spokesman Todd Smith said in an e-mail message that although prices vary by market, the figures were “directionally accurate.”
“The rising cost of programming content continues to be the main reason why our video prices increase,” Smith said in an e-mail statement. “Cox also continually adds new features and functions to services, enhancing the value for customers. For example, via the new Contour video services we’ve added voice remote, better search and TV Everywhere capabilities. We’ve consistently increased internet speeds more than 1000 percent over the last 17 years and we’re investing an unprecedented $10 billion in our infrastructure in the next five years. Part of that investment includes the nationwide deployment of DOCSIS 3.1, which builds on the strength of Cox’s fiber-based network and gives us the ability to roll out gigabit internet speeds throughout more neighborhoods at a faster pace.”
Altice USA said in October that it would raise prices at its Optimum unit in the New York metro area during the November billing cycle, in some instances by as much as $6 per month."

Q1: Why i can not find the KN320 in my computer?
A: When you plug the KN320 to your computer usb port, The computer’s usb port just be used as a power supply for the KN320. So the computer don’t needs to see it, you just need to connect it with PC by 3.5mm AUX cable so it will work for PC. When using for PC, you must use TX mode(Red light blinking). Then pair with your Bluetooth earphone/speaker.
Q2: Why i can not find the KN320 in my smart phone bluetooth ?
A: When you use the KN320 to pair with your phone, you need to confirm the KN320 was in bluetooth receiver mode (LED light should be BLUE blinking). If the light was red blinking,Its bluetooth transmitter mode ,not receiver mode ,so you can not find it in your phone.

THE HAPPY SATELLITE NERD EPISODE 55.2
The Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (French: Société Radio-Canada), branded as CBC/Radio-Canada, is a Canadian federal Crown corporation that serves as the national public broadcaster for both radio and television.[3] The English- and French-language service units of the corporation are commonly known as CBC and Radio-Canada respectively, and both short-form names are also commonly used in the applicable language to refer to the corporation as a whole.
Although some local stations in Canada predate CBC's founding, CBC is the oldest existing broadcasting network in Canada, first established in its present form on November 2, 1936.[4] Radio services include CBC Radio One, CBC Music, Ici Radio-Canada Première, Ici Musique and the international radio service Radio Canada International. Television operations include CBC Television, Ici Radio-Canada Télé, CBC News Network, Ici RDI, Ici Explora, Documentary Channel (part ownership), and Ici ARTV. The CBC operates services for the Canadian Arctic under the names CBC North and Radio-Canada Nord. The CBC also operates digital services including CBC.ca/Ici.Radio-Canada.ca, CBC Radio 3, CBC Music/ICI.mu and Ici.TOU.TV, and owns 20.2% of satellite radio broadcaster Sirius XM Canada, which carries several CBC-produced audio channels.
CBC/Radio-Canada offers programming in English, French and eight aboriginal languages on its domestic radio service, and in five languages on its web-based international radio service, Radio Canada International (RCI).[5] However, budget cuts in the early 2010s have contributed to the corporation reducing its service via the airwaves, discontinuing RCI's shortwave broadcasts as well as terrestrial television broadcasts in all communities served by network-owned rebroadcast transmitters, including communities not subject to Canada's over-the-air digital television transition.
CBC's federal funding is supplemented by revenue from commercial advertising on its television broadcasts. The radio service employed commercials from its inception to 1974, but since its primary radio networks have been commercial-free. In 2013, CBC's secondary radio networks, CBC Music and Ici Musique, introduced limited
