Mac20Q recommendation for this #FF #FollowFriday is David Paul Baker @davidpbaker he is a powerhouse of a film maker. Latest from Daivid is City of Sin - 1 film per month. That is going to be one hell of a job to get that done. I will be interesting to see how the project fares.

MoneyWiz - iPad finance apps - Looking after the money with an application on your iOS devices is getting a lot easier now there are applications like MoneyWiz. I have these applications on my iPad and also on my iPhone, unfortunately it is not a universal application and you have to buy it. Then there is also the MoneyWiz application much you can get for the Mac. What is very good is the fact that you can use the server to synchronise your transactions and money was workings across all of your devices.
It is quick and easy to enter a new transaction whether it is an income or an expense, or even a transfer of money from one account to another. The most useful thing about any application of this type is the sort of reports that you can get from it. There are a number of reports with a high degree of configurability so you should have no trouble in finding a default report that will do what you needed to do.
If you want to set yourself a budget for a particular part of your finances, you can do this quite easily. You tell the application how much you want to set yourself for spending on a particular item or set of items for a specific time period, such as a week or a month. The application gives you a graphic to show you how far you're through spending that budgeted amount and I think this is a very useful feature.

Avid video editor was bought out by Corel and renamed Pinnacle studio for iPad. It is worthy alternative to using iMovie for editing video on your iPad. Some people would say that it is better than using iMovie to edit videos. This video I show my first impressions using it and found it very easy to use although I need to learn a bit more about how all of the tools worked.

Good and Geeky using Picsew to make the fastest scroll shot in the world.. Sometimes you need to take two pictures and put them together to create one long picture or one wider picture. In this instance we are looking at a screenshot where we have something like either a long webpage or a long scrolling space within an application. Here I show you how you can take something from WhatsApp and fitted together to make one image. We are using the application Picsew first from the share menu in the Photos app. Then I show you how we can do it manually from within the Picsew application. This gives you a chance to remove unwanted portions of the images from the middle, top and bottom. It even allows you to take a section out in between by adding another joining point. The application does the scroll shots going from top to bottom, but if you do manually you can join images horizontally.
The application also gives you tools to markup the images. You can add a watermark, either text or an image. Or you can add text to place wherever you want within the image. If you really want to you can take your Apple pencil if you working on the iPad and draw on the images as you see fit. The application also has tools to redact anything which needs to be hidden. There are three ways to blur out whatever shouldn’t be on view.

Craft Note taking app has got CraftX extensions. In the tutorial I show you how to set some up and I particularly like the Snippets craft extension. I also compare that with using the templates which are also fairly new in Craft.
You can quickly add boiler plate text into a craft document and then customise it within that new doc.
With the Craft Templates make a complete new document from the template or use the slash command to add the template to the cursor point in the document you currently have open.
Templates are great if you want to have a repeatable specific layout for the text and data.
Snippets can be small bits of data or large swaths of text. Whatever you need to be productive and quickly add to your personal knowledge system.

EV 20 Q – My Electric Car
https://ev20q.com/my-electric-car-charging/
Yet another trip to Barcelona to do a road trip. Really just because I wanted to go out and drive my car. My excuse was that I wanted to go out and check a view of the CHAdeMO charges around Barcelona. I don’t want to be in a situation where I’m in Barcelona and not sure of how to find the next charging point. It’s hard enough driving round the city with all the traffic and not really knowing where you’re going. Even when you have GPS and the Waze application it can be a little bit stressful just to find exactly where the electric vehicle charging point has been placed.
On this latest trip to Barcelona I went to the first charging point on my list and it wasn’t working. Then I went to the shopping centre La Maquinista. It was a chance to go and visit the Apple Store and see the latest iPad Pro and MacBook Air computers. I also wanted to check to see if the destination charges within the shopping centre were working. In my previous two visits to the shopping centre they were out of order. The spaces were only any good for having a parking spot near to the entrance to the shopping centre. Things weren’t any better with this visit and the charges were still out of action.
The next public electric vehicle charger I went to was at Sant Andreu. It was placed behind a bus station and next to a metro entrance. I did have to wonder what was going on with the directions as I had to go slightly past the charger to turn in and get to the charging bays. This time I was successful in getting plugged in and charged up. I stayed there for about 20 to 30 minutes and we pulled in about 11 kWh.
Moving onto the next charge point which was not too far away. This was next to a market and was out of action. I did have a nice time talking to a little old man who was full of questions about my electric car and how to charge the battery up. I find quite a lot of people are interested and have questions.
Onwards towards the next charging point and a place where I could find somewhere to eat and use the facilities. The CHAdeMO charger was next to a roundabout which was extremely busy with traffic. I nearly missed the charging bay, but I was able to change lanes and pull in. I didn’t plan to stay too long at the public charger, although I had to due to the food taking a long time to be prepared. When I got back I had a nearly full battery. I wasn’t therefore a massive amount of time, and I don’t think anybody was impacted by my extended stay.
Although I haven’t had much luck with some of the Nissan dealerships for getting charged I wanted to try out one in Barcelona. This one had the unfortunate name of Otto Diesel. Still didn’t need any charging the battery so I just jumped out o

I think this is new in version 2 of Affinity Designer that you can put multiple outer shadows, drop shadows. I love using the FX effects in my designs. There are a few effects in the FX panel which you can duplicate the effect. Multiple outlines, inner and outer shadows. The sky's the limit with Affinity Designer version 2.

You don't have to wait for OSX Mavericks to tag your files. You can do it now in Mountain Lion. I show you ways to tag files and to search for them based on tags.
Get TagIt from Ironic Software - http://www.ironicsoftware.com/tagit/
Default Folder X
http://www.stclairsoft.com/DefaultFolderX/release.html
When you know what you're doing with this software is pretty easy to tag your files soon Mountain Lion. Tagging in OS X Mavericks from the little that I have seen of it so far does look like it is a mix of the tagging and labels. Hopefully this will fit in with the open meta-tagging standard so that a tag that we have made with mountain lion will still be available for us to use with OS X Mavericks.
I will be looking forward to trying out what we have coming in the next version of the Apple operating system for the desktop and laptop computers even if the name OS X Mavericks is a little bit on the silly side. I think I preferred the cats and they could have at least used the name and Garfield for this next one.

## Taking A Quick Note In Terminal To Send To Obsidian
There are times when you’re working away in the terminal and you need to make a quick note. It’s quicker if you could make that note while still in the terminal application rather than switching to your note taking application like Obsidian. In this video I show you how to create a function in the ZSH config file. You only have to write the name of the function followed by a space and then the note you want to send to Obsidian. With this function there is a limit on the amount of text you can write. You can easily write two or three sentences. Anything longer year will be better off going and opening the Obsidian application or whatever other note taking application you use.

The talking iPad
Get the iPad to talk to you with the Speak text function available in the system settings. It may be that your eyesight is not that great and to have text spoken to you is going to be much more useful than trying to read it through thick glasses. Although the voices quite robotic if you still sometimes handed to hear what I sent and sounds like without it being filtered by the fact that you are reading it out aloud.
White text on black background.
Some iPad users will benefit from being able to have white text on a black background. With the iPad, in the access ability settings is very easy to change the way that the whole screen of the iPad looks. For certain eye conditions it can be very beneficial to have all of the colours inverted on your iPad. There may also be a certain occasions where users without eye problems can also benefit from inverting of the colours on the iPad.
Three finger double tap to zoom
There are many applications where you can use the pinch to zoom. Also there are other applications where you would like to see things closer in the application and Apple have made available a zoom function, for when the pinch to zoom is not available. double tap on the screen and you are immediately zoomed in and then use your three fingers to also scroll around the screen.
