Kids learn differently. Education needn't be a one-size-fits-all solution. Parents and students should have choices. Choices like public schools, charter schools, private schools, micro-schooling or pods, or home schooling. Whatever it takes to fulfill their educational needs. We need more out-of-the-box thinking on programs like "open enrollment," "learn everywhere," and scholarship funds. Much of this can be facilitated through education savings accounts or ESAs. New Hampshire is one of the few states to still have no state income tax. The Democrats tried to slip one through this past legislative session in the guise of Paid Family Leave. Fortunately, Governor Sununu vetoed the bill. Once an income tax is established it will grow and never go away. We need to Preserve the New Hampshire Advantage. Part of that advantage is having one of the lowest total tax burdens of any state in the country.
