Monster Hunter Rise - Part 18 Apex Arzuros (Multiplayer)
I would prefer to keep these rampage quests to the multiplayer playlist, but we'll see. This is the quest that Blue needed to move to a new hunter rank, and rampage is tolerable in multiplayer, so I didn't leave him hanging. The enemy is Apex Arzuros, which is a fairly tame start compared to the things to come. Beating is necessary to get its Apex carves, which are needed for the rampage weapons. I've yet to find one I like, but I'll keep searching. It is possible they may not become decent until we finally get more of the Apex monsters in the game. Here's hoping you can fight them in a normal mode eventually. ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bsHsOOeQgns
There are only 2 ranked games here as I am working on some of the free to play guys to try to figure out how they work. In this one, you will see Gengar (finally?) and I notice the Hex reset with Sludge Bomb. From there, we get to see the ghost type really shine. Otherwise, there is also a Garchomp game here where I am still working on figuring him out, some Mr. Mime games where I try different things, etc. This is mainly an experimental video, so you will probably see things here you haven't seen here before.

I was surprised that there was no Blissey in either of these games seeing as she had just come out. According to Blue, his luck was just the opposite. Anyway, we'll have to see if she turns up in the coming games. Hopefully I can start talking again soon.

This map seems to be designed to punish some of Max's weaknesses, which makes it last as long as it does. We have to deal with a cannon on an island, which means we have to use indirects to pick it off. From there, we have to move through a series of tight bridges to make our way to Flak's HQ. With the help of some battleships, we can break the bottlenecks and force our way through. Had this been Lash or Hawke, it would have been a major struggle to get through, but since it is just Flak, it isn't nearly as bad.

For the next part, we dip into ancient China where we play as an aging martial artist seeking a successor. There are three candidates that we can find in the surrounding area, all of who we will need to fight at the end of the demo, making this one of the more combat focused ones.
Unless things have changed from the SNES version, you will want to make sure to reach to where I am with all of the pupils below level 6. Failure to do so could cause you to miss some of their moves. Also, make sure to train a single student, whichever one you wish to be your successor. They are going to need all the help they can get to beat the area crime boss/warlord.

Sometimes, things go really, really wrong.
So Menagerie is good at stalling out games due to his containment spheres, but the environment compounded things exponentially. The problem here is that the targets are all friendly until gassed, and then you have to wipe them out before you can remove the gas. I imagine this place may be paradise for the Naturalist, but I did not bring him, so instead we suffer and slog.
Menagerie just wants to collect things, and he summons tons of thugs to help him do so. They have a little bulk, so the lack of power on most of these heroes really struggles to cut through him. Basically, I have to try to sustain while very slowly getting a grip on the game.
Starlight is a support type hero where she empowers others with constellations. Then if you can get her other cards out, she can become tanky, replace constellations that are destroyed, heal, give out of turn powers and plays. Her DPS is very lacking though, so don't expect her to be a carry.
Titan is the tank of the group, able to absorb loads of punishment and get healed by teammates. He can also do a few solid nukes, but his damage is largely restricted to single target.
Malichae is a hybrid here, relying on his djinn to both support and provide some damage. Sadly, once they're set up, there is not much for him to do. You can mark a specific target for death, but actually dealing the damage consistently is a little difficult.
Gargoyle is menu hell. He is the hero equivalent of Matriarch when it comes to navigating menus. His whole gimmick is absorbing damage and then returning it. He won't actually take the damage though, and he can siphon off overkills of teammates, but he is so annoying to use. He will be making very few appearances because of this.
Finally, Cricket is in a situation similar to Malichae, except she is not as good as him in anything. She lacks in DPS, healing, and miscellaneous utility, making her extremely niche. Her biggest draw is that she can nullify a really nasty enemy barrage coming your way, but it can also nullify you if you're not prepared, making it completely worthless. I have her at the end and Titan in second so I can use the Chaplain to try to fix this mistake should it happen.
Finally, Halberd is a unique environment. I think it would be more tolerable with Naturalist or Wraith, but on the plus side, Titan does have a card to nuke the environment. I imagine there are probably some tricks you can do with Akash'Thriya to delay the inevitable, but I don't know if I want to dedicate a video to dealing with an environment alone.

Should you choose to help protect humanity, Principality will want you to exterminate the Lilim, sending your group into a group of 6 of them. It may seem like a lot, but if you have enough Bufu spells, they do go down pretty fast. Butcher the lot of them and Principality will join the group. However, he is fairly easy to fuse and about your level, so you may want to help the Lilim instead.

We get some insight into Kira's living situation here as we make our house visit. When all is said and done, we don't get as much VR time as we would like, but the drinks are decent. May return again later...

This is a quest a lot of people repeat in order to get Magnamalo's materials. In the launch version of the game, this was the only way to get blast gear, and his gloves were the only source of Handicraft for those who want to boost their sharpness. However, there are now Teostra gear with blast and Damascus with Handicraft, making this a lot less necessary than before.
As for the ghost cat, you just aim for the glowing parts and shoot until it stops moving. Pop the tail off if you want an extra chance at getting the orb, and make sure to break the face. He is really annoying with his whirl move, and I kind of wonder if him having that is pretty much why almost every weapon has a counter now.

This is seeing how the characters react after the developments of the completion of the fourth stratum. Due to its brief nature, you can see that there aren't any major bombshells, but we will do this for the sake of completion.
