Do High Flow Nozzles MIX Dual Color Filament?
I recently showed you this really fancy-looking, two-color filament that comes out of the nozzle with the same pattern as it was fed and creates some mesmerizing effects on your parts. However, the question so many of you had was, what happens if you feed this material through one of the high flow nozzles that split the filament up. Will they mix the material and remove the effect? This is the question I’ll answer today by printing parts with Bondtechs CHT nozzle, my simple mesh nozzle, and finally, this overkill Hedgehog Volcano nozzle where I solder six pieces of wire in which we’ll, of course, also test for its flow capability! Adding threads to 3D prints does not only improve the look of them but can also improve strength and usability. I've been working on a couple of comments and suggestions from the last videos on that topic. We'll be testing the strength of Böllhoffs Helicoils as well as embedded nut and compare that to the strength of heat-seated inserts. We'll also take a look at the strength assessment of these connections and see how they compare to our test results!

Let me show you how I built a hand-cranked shredder for recycling plastic waste. I want to use the shredded material to 3D print new parts from it. The shredder was sourced from the Precious Plastics Bazar and delivered as a box of sheet metal parts. Assembly was quiet easy only getting a proper hand crank was a challenge. I ended up with a 80cm long 25x25mm steel tube that is attached to the shaft via a laser-cut adapter. Similar particle size is very important during the process so I designed stackable and 3D-printable sieves that are used to obtain the different particle fractions.

The Filament Star, that I found at the Midwest RepRap Festival 2022, is a 3D printing tool head that rotates to switch tools. Jerry and Jack Fisher from US 3D LLC implemented this concept on their Ender-5 together with a DUET and extension board. I re-tested the strength of 3D printed parts when using a filament oiler. This time I was using vegetable oil instead with surprising results!
It obviously makes a difference what type of oil you are using. Vegetable oil is much better than machine oil!

Are 3D printed materials affected by disinfecting them with common 70% Isopropyl alcohol? I printed parts in PLA, PETG, ASA, ABS, PP, Nylon, HIPS, PC, TPU and resin, submerged them in IPA for 48h and tested their strength!
