In this video I am taking a look at a high resolution microscope camera from Hayear, they claim up to 2K resolution but the HDMI output can only go up to 1080P 60fps and the USB output up to 1080P 30fps. Nonetheless the image you get from the camera is high quality. The camera was sent in by banggood.com for free for the purpose of this review.

High quality quick turn PCB Services https://www.pcbway.com In this video I will take you through the process of designing and manufacturing a custom T10 LED based automotive bulb with a high CRI Cree LED rated for 4000K color temperature. We’ll discuss the design choices I made and take measurements to compare this bulb to the lower quality ones that I used to buy from Aliexpress. Generally the problem I had with the Aliexpress bulbs were color temperature, they were all this blue tint, something in the 6500K range and also reliability was a big issue, they were failing quite often due to the high temperatures they run at.
This design does not feature any load resistors (wrongly called CANBUS on various websites) because on my VW the interior lights do not have any monitoring going on so there is no need for that.

Today we are taking a look at this soldering station which I got from Taobao, the chinese Ebay. This unit is fully contained, power supply is built-in, it works with T12 Hakko tips and it has this nice 1.3 inch OLED display.

I started this project to solve a problem I was having and that is constant watering of these two pineapple plants that I’m growing. You know how things work, sometimes you forget to water them and sometimes you are away for a couple of days and there isn’t anyone home to water them.

High quality PCB Services https://pcbway.com Join me in this video where we take a closer look at the Blitzwolf BW-PG1 Power Station. This true power station can probably cover the needs of most users that go camping for a few days and need to keep their gadgets charged, it can probably also function as a good backup for prolonged power outages in your area. Its build quality it’s great too and that’s why I think you should consider adding this to your shortlist of choices..

The unit does perform according to it’s specs and has nice protection features so this is again good points in favor of the unit.
They do also mention having approvals like FCC but I couldn’t find any FCC ID number that I could check so maybe they are in the process of getting that.
There are however a couple of downsides worth mentioning: first it does not have an IP rating so it should be kept away from water to prevent any damage. This kinda limits the outdoor activity because you would have to watch out and keep it dry at all time. Dust or sand could also quite easily get inside the unit if you take it to the beach.
Another important safety aspect is to not let it overheat so you should not run this in direct sunlight, you shouldn’t let it sit operating or not inside a vehicle where the temperature might exceed 50 degrees Celsius. This might harm the battery cells inside and might lead to unpredictable behavior. The wall charger can also get pretty got during operation so I would probably not leave that unattended.
And some piece of advice to prolong the life of the battery cells, don’t just store and forget it. Charge it to roughly 50% level and check every 3 months or so and recharge if needed.
Overall the market is quite diversified, There are smaller models, bigger ones, different output configurations so you’ll probably have to find one that suits your needs best but this one seems like a nice all rounder which sells for a very competitive price and is stocked in the EU warehouse so it’s worth considering it on your short list because of it’s good specs and good build quality. Personally I’ll probably consider adding a solar panel option as that can come in handy to harvest some free energy.
That was all for today, I hope you enjoyed this review and teardown, as always I am interested in hearing your thoughts in the comments below. Remember to use that discount coupon code if you are ordering one of these to get a better price.

High quality PCB Services https://pcbway.com Join me in this video where I rant about bad datasheets and how they caused me trouble with two recent projects. The devices in question are power brick modules from TDPOWER a chinese manufacturer that makes good AC-DC modules but lags behind when it comes to the documentation..

It all started a few days ago when I was talking with a friend and he suggested, since we do most of our phone charging at night, why not charge them at a lower rate for increased battery life.
