歌詞の中で“敵は近くに置いておけ”という古いことわざの様な表現があります、これはただの我々の憶測でしかありませんが、孫子が書いた兵法の中の3章にある内容(下記参照)からかもしれません。もしくは、映画ゴッドファーザー・Part IIでマイケル・コルレオーネが言ったセリフ(下記参照)から来ているのかもしれませんね。その憶測をもとに、諺や先人の知恵を引用するような感じで訳してあります。

From the book “The Art of War” written by Sun Tzu (6th century BCE, Chinese general, military strategist), as it says in the Chapter III of the book:

It is said that if you know your enemies and know yourself, you will not be imperiled in a hundred battles; if you do not know your enemies but do know yourself, you will win one and lose one; if you do not know your enemies nor yourself, you will be imperiled in every single battle.

Or possibly, from the movie “The Godfather Part II” (1974), in which Michael Corleone says:
“My father taught me many things here — he taught me in this room. He taught me — keep your friends close but your enemies closer.”
