Busan Songdo Beach (부산 송도해수욕장)
Songdo Beach is 800 meters long and 50 meters wide. The average water level is 1~1.5 meters. It is located 3 kilometers from Busan's Jagalchi Market and was one of the first beaches to open in 1913. In 2000, the beach underwent a comprehensive 5 year reconstruction and reopened with restored and expanded coastlines and the addition of several fountains.
Nearby attractions include Busan’s famed Jagalchi Seafood Market and Amnam Park. Amnam Park was a military protected area that opened to the public as a nature park in April 1996. Amnam Park, as well as Dudo Park, a famous sea fishing spot, connects to Songdo, where visitors can see a spectacular landscape with seagulls, a symbol of busan, and the quiet seascape with Yeongdo Island in the distance.
The area has a variety of accommodation and dining options, and is well equipped with convenient facilities.
Songdo Cloud Trails (also called Songdo Skywalk) is 365 meter long and connects Songdo Beach and Turtle Island. This skywalk resembles a dragon in a curved shape. Visitors can enjoy an amazing view of the ocean and Songdo Cable Car above.
On the way to the endpoint of Songdo Cloud Trails, you will step on Turtle Island (거북섬). The small island has a sad love story: A long, long time ago, a fisherman took shelter in a cave during the storm. He found a woman severely injured and took care of her with all the medicinal herbs he could find. Finally, she woke up. She told him that she was the daughter of the King of the Sea and she was actually a dragon. She got hurt while fighting against the sea monster to protect fishermen. As you may guess, they fell in love, and the princess started praying for a thousand days to become human to get married to the fisherman.
On the last day of one thousand days, the sea monster came out and interrupted the prayer. The fisherman found this out and he went out to the sea to fight against the sea monster with other village people. Although he won the battle, he lost his life during the fight. The princess couldn’t become a complete human, either, and sadly became a half-woman half-dragon. The King of the Sea had mercy for these two lovebirds. He turned the fisherman into the Turtle Rock and let the princess live on the rock so that they could stay together forever. In addition, the King blesses the visitors to Turtle Island with long life and wealth. If a couple visits the place, he lets their love last.
The beach is nice and worth a visit. It would also be a nice place to stay in the city.

The National Revolutionary Martyrs' Shrine 國民革命忠烈祠 is a shrine in Zhongshan District, Taipei, Taiwan, dedicated to the war dead of the Republic of China.
Built on Chingshan Mountain and overseeing the Keelung River in Taipei's Zhongshan District in 1969, the Martyrs' Shrine recalls the architecture of the Hall of Supreme Harmony in Beijing's Forbidden City. The structure houses the spirit tablets of about 390,000 persons killed, among other engagements, during the Xinhai Revolution, Northern Expedition, Second Sino-Japanese War, Chinese Civil War, and the First and Second Taiwan Strait Crises.
A changing of the honor guard from the various branches of the Republic of China Military, similar to the rituals at the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall and Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall, take place at the shrine every hour from 9:00-5:00 pm.
Although the Martyrs' Shrine is located in Taiwan, most of the soldiers were born in mainland China. Taiwan was ruled by Japan throughout World War II, and about 200,000 Taiwanese who lived under Japanese rule served in the Japanese Imperial Army or Navy.
The Shrine is a great part of the history of Taiwan. There is much more to see here than just the changing of the guard. Its well worth seeing.

Nakhon Phanom province, in Northeast Thailand also known as Isan, lies the village of Renu Nakhon. This area, rarely visited by foreign tourists. Located west of the Mekong river and neighboring Laos, is mainly rural and quiet. Wat Phra That Renu Nakhon is an elegant chedi in rural Renu Nakhon.
The town’s main attraction is the Wat Phra That Renu Nakhon temple complex, with the elegantly designed 36 meters tall and over 8 meters wide chedi dominating the area. The chedi is based on the much older and very highly revered chedi of Wat Phra That Phanom, a little South of Renu Nakhon. Although not the same in shape or size, the two chedis share the same design characteristics.
The mainly white and gold colored chedi named Phra That Renu was built in 1918 and is a good example of Laotian style. The pagoda has niches on all four sides.
The ubosot or ordination hall of the temple complex contains a highly revered golden Buddha image in Laotian style.
The village Renu Nakhon is also known for the Phu Thai people that live here, and the hand made cotton and silk products they produce.

In Samet Songkhram, about an hour outside of Bangkok, is Maeklong Railway Market (Talet Rom Hup). The market is one of the largest produce and seafood markets in Thailand. In addition to fresh seafood and fruit the market is infamous for one small thing - a train runs right through it!
In 1995 the Maeklong Railway built a commuter railroad line right through the middle of a very popular market. Instead of moving the vendors just adapted to the situation and new conditions. They modified the market stalls and work around a train that passes through eight times a day, seven days a week.
It’s a great day trip out of the city and can be combined with stops at some of the temples or floating markets like Damnoen Saduk or Amphawa Floating Markets west of Bangkok.

In this video we explore the area around Pak Kret Pier and see the new river walk. The river walk allows you to see the sights along the Chaopraya River as well as catch boats to tour the area. The reason for the video was to see how easy it is to get to Koh Kret island now.
Koh Kret is a great weekend get away for people in Bangkok. It’s very popular for people to get out of the city, see a few temple and shop in the market for food and snacks. The river walk and newly built piers allow easy access to the island by longtail or public ferry. The pier at Pak Kret and the surrounding area is worth exploring also with a sprawling market thst goes down the main road and the smaller side streets.

Wat Paramaiyikawat Warawihan วัดปรมัยยิกาวาส วรวิหาร or simple known as Wat Paramaiyikawat วัดปรมัยยิกาวาส is an ancient Buddhist temple located on Ko Kret, Nonthaburi Province, central Thailand on the bank of the Chao Phraya River.
The temple is classified as a second class royal temple. It is believed that it was built in the late Ayutthaya period after the begin of Ko Kret. At that time it was called "Wat Pak Ao" วัดปากอ่าว, which means "estuary temple" because of the location.
In 1764, when the Burmese occupied the city during the fall of Ayutthaya. The temple was left empty, until 1774 when the Mons immigrated during the reign of King Taksin. He ordered it to be restored. The temple is also called "Pia Moo Kia Terng" เภี่ยมู้เกี้ยเติ้ง by the mons, which means "temple at the cape".
In 1874, King Chulalongkorn (Rama V) presided over the Thot Kathin ทอดกฐิน ceremony coving four Mon temples of Nonthaburi. He saw that the temple was in poor condition so he ordered the restoration and overhaul of the temple by preserving the Mon's style in order to devote the merit to his grandmother (Princess Sudarattanarachaprayu. She helped raise him from when he was young and named the temple "Wat Paramaiyikawat" like today, which means "temple of grandmother".
The interior of the ordination hall features mural paintings in Thai traditional style and the doors and windows are decorated in colored stucco style. Outside the temple at the rightmost of the island corner is the location of the "Phra Chedi Mutao" พระเจดีย์มุเตา, a white pagoda in Mon's style. King Chulalongkorn once was here to pour relics of Buddha inside in 1884. This pagoda has a distinctive feature, it is a leaning pagoda.
Originally, it was an upright pagoda. Later on, water eroded the bank therefore causing the pagoda to tilt about the year 1891, despite efforts to restore it in 1992, it was unsuccessful. The pagoda is replica of the Shwemawdaw Pagoda of Bago, Myanmar which is a pagoda that is worshiped and highly respected by the Mons.
Both pagoda and temple has been registered as national ancient monuments by the Fine Arts Department in 1935.
Wat Paramaiyikawat is also regarded as the gateway of Ko Kret because it has a ferry pier opposite the mainland of Nonthaburi (Pak Kret), which is a very popular route.
This is just one of the many things to see on Koh Kret. It is a very popular destination for locals and tourists alike to visit.

Wat Ko Kaew Pitsadan - the Only Temple on the Island
Wat Ko Kaew Pitsadan took its name from an alternate for Koh Samet coined by Sunthorn Phu in his Phra Aphai Mani literary epic.
Accessible directly from the road that runs behind Ao Sai Kaew, a white concrete Buddha image sits around seven meters tall from the pink-lotus base to the gold-painted umbrella placed above the head. Held up in front of the chest, the index finger of the image’s right hand is bent over the thumb in an unusual gesture.
The temple also has a new ordination hall and Wihan that are still being constructed. The ordination hall will be open on the sides, allowing a breeze to flow through the building, which is very unusual. The detail work and styling is very nice and will be amazing when it is completed.
Though only marginally interesting by general Thai temple standards, the big Buddha is worth a stop if you happen to be in the area.
