When approaching the Westside south entrance, a barricade of sorts can be seen, spelling out the location's name. The "R" in the sign points to the sewer below, distinguishing the main entrance. The Thorn serves as a sporting arena, where bets can be placed on the outcome of fights between wasteland creatures. Access to the Thorn is denied from 1:00 AM to 6:00 AM. The arena is surrounded by a system of raised catwalks for the guards and spectators, and surrounding the sides are cages holding the wasteland creatures grown and kept by Red Lucy for arena battles.
Custom fights can be arranged by speaking to Red Lucy. The player chooses what creature and how many of such will fight on each side. Since the creatures are expensive to breed, keep, and maintain, the player must pay for the fight. If the team chosen by the Courier is victorious, the amount of caps originally given will be returned as well as an additional sum.

Taffington Boathouse, two-story pre-War colonial house, formerly inhabited by the Sutton family and currently infested with bloodbugs. Potential Settlement.
Bloodbugs are prevalent throughout the location, with between four and six in the immediate area and three more inside. There is a mine in a pothole in the road just in front of the house. The house comes equipped with an indoor cooking station and three beds. Besides the residential building, the location also features a boathouse, containing gun traps and laser tripwires. There are five gourd plants in front of the house.

On the morning of the Great War, the airliner was approaching Boston Airport from Chicago with several passengers and crew on board. When Boston was struck by nuclear bombs, the shockwave of the blast crippled the plane. In desperation, the pilots attempted to land the plane on a nearby highway. It instead collided with the overpass and crashed hundreds of feet away. Since the crash, the wreckage has been picked over by generations of raiders and scavengers.

A ruined tower is located along the Dunmeth Pass near the border to Morrowind. Two frost trolls, ice wraiths, or snow bears inhabit the structure, with two books scattered on the ground. An adept locked chest with leveled items can be found on the roof.
Outside the tower is a small pedestal with the book Decree of Monument that describes its history. Further east a small Dunmer graveyard can be found.
