Discussions On Game Design Part 1 - Game Or Bust Community Podcast
Welcome to the very first community driven Game Or Bust Podcast! The theme of this podcast is Game Design which I (Brent) am very passionate about because I work in the game industry. Of course, being our first live podcast with the community on Discord we decided to start this podcast off with the basic information about what this and future podcasts are going to be like. This is relative to the beginning of the last podcast, just this time it includes the text conversations of the community in the podcast channel. What is this podcast you ask? This podcast is a live podcast (in Discord) where we talk with the community about a specific topic or many topics. Essentially Brett and I will pose questions or a topic and talk about that topic, then we will have community members "call" into the show to go "on air" with us to talk about the topic we are currently going over.

Awesome, so what is this podcast about? Well this podcast is about all things game design related. We talk for a while with the community on each sub-topic of game design so there are three sub-topics we cover. We cover mechanics, story, and mobile (phone) vs. other video games with the community. We also go across a range of games like heavy rain, clash royale, halo, monster hunter, and more. We discuss the various games and how they are prime examples of what to do and what not to do in games. Ultimately everyone has a different stand point on games, notably when it comes to story in games, so take what is said by us and community members with a grain of salt.

Many people requested that we would play Portal 2 and so here we are, playing some of that puzzling Portal 2 together! We noticed that a lot of people are wanting us to play multiplayer games more as well so that is something we are doing a bit more of now days too as you may have noticed. In this episode we start from scratch in aperture science testing labs and everything seems to go smooth, you know, for the most part. We take turns trying to figure out the puzzles and also answer another viewers question which is apparently really hard for Brent to do for some reason. Watch as we blow through a ton of the first stage levels and work together to become Portal 2 masters. Welcome back to our final episode in this mini-series of Wheel Of Fortune: Deluxe Edition! We solve a couple of phrases that don't make sense and finally answer the Vietnamese Pot Bellied Pig phrase earlier, well watch Corey do it that is. House Party is a game where you are playing a character who just walked in on a party, that you were invited to, and your goal is to do all the various quests of the characters in the game. One of the first things we wind up doing, of course, is pissing off Frank by saying that we were drunk. He is apparently triggered by the thought of this and will fight anyone who has been drinking; which is a pretty weird thing to do at a party. He didn't say anything about drugs, it seems to be only related to alcohol. Anyway, this is our first time into this game and we are playing it blind (haven't looked up anything about it). So far it is an interesting first impression, the controls are a bit clunky, but that could be because I'm using the wrong hand on the mouse, which probably makes it more interesting to play if we are being honest. We are not that far into the story but have found out that there are a lot of interesting things going on in this party. We found a couple of safes and started a couple of fights. Leave it to us to die within the first like 5 mins of a game that otherwise seems kinda hard to die in. Come join us in the fun as we see all the mysteries that unfold at this house party!
