Lumpini Park (part 3) Paddle Boats in Bangkok
After stopping by the US Embassy to learn that Gracie's US Tourist Visa (B-2) will be able to be picked up in about 4 days (they were actually Wrong... more videos on that at a later time) We decided that for 40 THB (~$1.30) we would paddle around one of the little lakes in Lumpini Park in Bangkok.
Lumpini Park is a really great place in Bangkok; people running, exercising, meditating, praying, eating, sleeping (only a few at this time of day though) - all enjoying their lives. It's a GREAT change from the potential CRAZY that is frequently synonymous with all that is Bangkok.

I had a very close friend transition to the "next" stage this morning. A friend that I laughed with so much that I *KNOW* I had a Much better life from knowing her.
When friends or family members pass away in their late 80's, many times the statement of "they had a good run" applies. For this friend it's closer to "SHE HAD AN AWESOME RUN"!!!
So, as I was sitting at a beach on an ocean of considerable beauty, I smiled and thought of so many times she and I had some of the best times together.
Mimi - I love you, no matter where you are YOU are in my heart.

My buddy Robbie from the YouTube channel: Walking In My Shoes

Actually, chatting with Robbie is really cool. He's still "new" to Thailand so I really like to hear his take on what its like over here. This interview was done during his 3rd trip to Thailand, in May of 2022. We discuss My first trip to Thailand and a number of other topics.
Hope you enjoy listening/watching this. Arguably this is really more of a podcast. I've often thought that "doing a podcast" would be fun but it always seems that after only a few months of doing one regularly, I'm getting ready to hop on a plane and explore somewhere else.
For SURE The Land Of Smiles in *my* HOME. I love it here as much as I did on my first vacation trip in December of 2012. I love it as much as I did in November of 2019 when I packed up EVERYTHING and took that infamous "one-way ticket" to Bangkok and Gracie and I made this our home.
The more I think about it, the more I *KNOW* this is the place for me.

Sorry that this upload/post is a bit out of chronological order. I was sitting here in San Diego editing some video to post on YouTube and realized I missed posting several videos from the summer.
This one in particular, while originally shot in June, is from our long weekend in Florida. The June Gloom was especially bad in San Diego this past year so gratefully, I had some JetBlue points that I actually needed to use or they were going to expire.
I had never really gone any further West in Florida than Key West and up until this trip, had never experienced the west coast of Florida.
It is now my FAVORITE place in Florida.
Its always a great thing when Gracie and I travel to a place where neither of us has been before. The whole "exploration" thing for me is a bug I was bitten by many years ago and gratefully I haven't been cured of wanting to explore. I also realized that if I stay in a "cold" (my version of cold... probably not the same as your "cold") climate I really get bummed out.
While much data and many people all seem to agree that if you live in an area with lack of sunshine, you can get depressed, for me, living in an area where it is not Always above 70 degrees... I simply do not feel normal.
SO, hope you enjoy this last little bit of our trip in Southern Florida and Specifically Sanibel Island - if was a magical place and I KNOW we will return for longer next time!!!
