Hi guys, in the currently in the process of getting some old cpap machines so i can do a video showing how the devices have changed over the decades. I've currently gone back as far as 2000 when the ResMed S6 was first released but i'd love to get my hands on some really ancient devices from 1990 or even earlier.
If anyone has some old ResMed or Respironics machines they are not using and would like to donate to the channel please drop a comment with what machine you have and i will make i worth your while.
Thanks for your help.
Nick :)

G'day mates, ResMed devices have a 'design life' of 5 years. Soon after, you will receive a lovely message on your cpap screen informing you 'motor life exceeded, contact service' . You have 3 options.
No.1 The cpap should continue to operate as normal and might run for many years if it's been well looked after. The motors do start to build up dust and get noisy and they are normally on their last legs after 7 years.
No.2 You can send your device in for repairs at ResMed. I was quoted $900 for an S9 motor replacement here in Australia.
No.3 You can buy a new cpap.
No.4 You can replace the motor yourself with an aftermarket motor of the same specifications.
If you would like to order an aftermarket brushless motor then email cpapreviewsaus@gmail.com with the email title - S9 MOTOR REPLACEMENT
The cost is $299 USD + $49 DHL International Shipping
General disclaimer - Obviously you are doing so at your own risk. Modifying any medical device could potentially cause harm. I would only recommend doing this if you have an old S9 or AS10 that you no longer use because it's broken etc and you just want to fix it up as a backup or perhaps a travel/camping unit etc.

The Philips Supervisory Board has made the decision to fire Philips CEO Frans Van Houten and replace him with Roy Jakobs head of connected care.
It will be very interesting to see if Roy can turn this sinking ship around.
