After defeating a sniper on a helicopter, cross over the spikes with a sweeper in the area. Hit the blocks to clear the area and descend with the ladder. Ride the platforms to navigate your way across the spikes and defeat a set of oval drones. Make your way around some cyan helmets and climb the ladder to battle against helmets on trains. In the next room, use the Harpoon to make your way around the spikes. Over a pit of spikes, destroy the blocks and climb the ladder. The next section has fish coming from the water, so be sure to get rid of them. After a robot throws missiles, the next room will adjust its wall as spikes are attached to it, so make sure your position is right to avoid those spikes. After the wall stops adjusting, the next section has hard shell missiles and tube cones. Descend and you’ll next see some helmets on turrets. After Eddie gives you a random item, enter the cap doors and you’ll take on Dr. Wily’s skull machine. The skull machine will shoot big balls and missiles at you. Aim for the mouth of the machine by using the Gradius Shield. After the skull machine is gone, Dr. Wily in his own ship will be all that there is remaining. Dr. Wily will throw a shock wave that splits after it hits the turf and a barrage of energy balls that travel in spirals. Use the Ricochet Shotgun to deal more damage. After winning the battle, Dr. Wily will attempt to retreat as a hostage Dr. Light will be rescued. The castle will begin to collapse, but Proto Man will save you before the game is complete.
