Vanguard Drops ETF Expense Ratios! (2019)
Are you as excited as I am? Let everyone know in the comments!
https://finance.yahoo.com/news/vanguard-drops-hammer-etf-fee-143705599.htmlWhile this doesn't seem like a big deal... it is!
Consider a $100,000 investment. An expense ratio of 0.05% is $50 versus 0.04% is $40. Over 40 years, this is a difference of $400! That $400 could otherwise have been invested in the equity for long-term growth and gain... a potential difference (at an average compounded growth of 10%) of over $5,320!!!
So yes, even a 0.01% drop in an expense ratio makes a MASSIVE difference over the long term, especially with large capital. Thank you, Vanguard! (And thank you other companies for being competition to keep these expense ratios low!!!) Huzzah for the average investor!
