You take control of a platoon of androids and need to fulfill various missions. Each mission takes place on a different planet. There are different types of andriods, each with different abilities. Some only have melee weapons, whilte others have fire arm but are weak in hand-to-hand combat. Technicians are weak in general, but they are needed to operate enemy terminals. If you place a technicain android behind an enemy terminal, it can enter commands. There are three possible commands to enemy consols, except quit: activate, shut down or destroy. You need to display the commands and then compare them to commands listet in your own console (which you can access any time). to find out which command does what.
Gameplay takes places in real-time, and the action does not stop while you operate a console. You can order your unit individually or gather them behind a leader. You can select units to be defensive (only fight when attacked) or offensive (attack any enemy in sight). There is also a "fire at" command for units with fire arms. When ordering a unit to move, you can program a path with up to four waypoints.
Units have limited fuel. A unit without fuel can't do anything, but it will refill auotmatically to a minimal degree when staying still without orders. There are also energy stations around the refuel units.
Being too close to sources of heat or radioactivity will raise a unit's heat oder radiation level. If either gets too high, the unit will be destroyed. While heat will cool off again if you get away from the heat source, radiation levels will not go down for the rest of the mission.
