I sat down with Aunt Carla also known as @Marie Lizzeau to interview her about her practice and her teachings. She answered the question about what is hoodoo? How hoodoo practitioners use the bible, hexing and protection magick, and spiritual mentorship and spiritual teachings. I started following Aunt Carla a while ago on Instagram and love her teachings on candle magick, love magick, protection, and banishing. She is really easy to talk with and you can tell she is the real deal. She comes with 30 years of experience and she is HUMBLE! I loved talking to her. When I said that some things happened that I thought were too much to mention, I did not mean that what she went through was worse than what Aunt Carla had mentioned about slavery at all. What I was thinking about in my mind was when my great grandfather had to feed my grandmother and her 5 siblings a cat because they had no food and they were starving basically and I wasn't sure if I should mention that and I'm still not sure about putting it here... but that is what happens when people go through horrible things and that is a true part of my grandmothers history. Also that is only part of my family history and I do live in what would be considered Southern Canada in the country. Also --- at the end of the video I mentioned that I had learned a lot over the past few years and I learned to take my own education on the background of different teachings were from and why they developed. I think now that it is very important to learn about the history of the people and the practices and to appreciate the culture from which different systems of magick and belief systems come from.
