But first the event. I don't know what's going on with Albedo but it seems like he's maybe a homunculus. Now this could be a copy that's of the actual Albedo we'll meet later on or some other character created Albedo to serve some kind of purpose we'll learn later on but either way it seems like Albedo's not a regular person and that could explain why he's the only Alchemist that can create life out of the dead. Wondering what Part 2 of his story will hold. Anyway as for the trials you can see where I went a little different this time. It kinda started last time with Zhongli's group but I was still pretty bad. This time well I have the benefit of knowing how Sucrose and definitely Fischl work so they are much better than my previous rounds with them. Sucrose this time especially I feel like Mihoyo fixed the enemies to be much easier to deal with for her. Last time it was the Treasure Hoarders and they like to spread out. This pushes them out of the range of Sucrose's butterfly so I had to run around more to get them closer together. But this time it was the hilichurls and they love swarming which really helped out. Tack on Lisa and Kaeya instead of Lisa alone and this time was much better for what Sucrose is meant for. Bennett was a first for me. You can see me struggle to use his skill since I don't really have that experience but I do know his Burst since just about everybody on youtube uses it to maximize their damage. I've got my own Bennett now and with Festering at max refinement he should be pretty powerful right out of the gate. So I'll have to look into it. As for Fischl you can see I know exactly what I'm doing with her. It's only too bad Amber and Kaeya are no match for my Mona and Xiangling. Albedo matched with Xiangling and being a Support 5* feels like a revisit of Venti's Trial only Albedo's a little easier to figure out. Venti was decent but I feel like his power comes from the team. If I had him as a fourth on my team then he'd be Swirling Mona's Hydro, Fischl's Electro and Xiangling's Pyro for some major damage. In the Trial all he gets is Xiangling so it didn't show off what he's meant for. Meanwhile Albedo's just there to amplify whatever other character is there. His flower also gives Albedo his own damage which was much better built in his Trial than many other characters. Unfortunately you can see at least on mobile the elevator effect isn't very reliable. Could be my lag. Could be the less than accurate controls on phone but you can see I only managed to get it to work twice and only got in a plunge off of it once. Anyway looks like the next event will be kicking off soon with the Hypostases. Not sure I'll do videos on those much like I didn't for things like the meals on wheels and gliding event but we'll see. Plus I still have more story videos to get out. Until then! So in today's quest we're told about the whole French not liking spicy thing and it's true. I looked it up and French people don't like spicy in general. But what do they like then? Well, I read one fairly defensive comment who said that "unrefined palates would call it bland" and that gave me my answer. I looked up a bunch of what the French consider typical food items and for example the one most people came up with is cassoulet, pretty much beans and meat soup. I've had this. I've added so much table salt to this that people were ready to dial the paramedics on me lol Other things I saw on these lists didn't convince me that my "unrefined palate" is wrong. Bland. So perhaps this is why Japan favors French cuisine as well. Japanese food despite the soy sauce and wasabi is typically bland and Japanese people don't really eat wasabi even with their sushi. They were ready to dial the paramedics when they saw my use of wasabi too. In fact I'd say it's like Cantonese cuisine. But on the flip side French desserts are really sweet. I'd say most Western European snacks and desserts are really sweet. In fact people love to praise Belgian chocolate but that stuff is diabetically sweet to me. This neither Cantonese nor Japanese cuisine has. Japanese chocolate is very smooth and mild. And I think because of the sugary and fattening properties Cantonese people don't tend to appreciate chocolate. I still remember this interview Jackie Chan had and he was like "sure I like ice cream. But you know what you do if you eat ice cream right? More punching, more kicking, more running." That said I found the red bean stuff that both these guys eat to be sweet enough. There's this like stuffed pancake thing that's actually sometimes made a little too sweet for me but otherwise tastes very nice and dim sum has these awesome treats. It's a shell with like sesame seeds on it but inside there's this glob of red bean paste. Very good. Where was I going with this? Well I'm off to get a snack so see you next episode! But in the end I can't say it was a bad run. The cameo didn't end up coming back before the day wrapped up but I think that means he'll be there on Monday. But it took longer for the other one to come back too so it's likely Monday will just start out with it. Unless there's going to be more to upgrade I think all my funds can just go towards whatever I want too. I mean again I was so close to the 2 million for that last thing so unless there's some extra reward at like 5 million or something I'm pretty much set. Check out my other topics on Hoyolab ▻▻ https://bit.ly/3ECZPmX The new banner's out and there's been highs and lows already for me. Gorou's looking like he'll be as elusive for me as Sayu was. That said he doesn't even really play all that well. I did appreciate the appearance of more Geo characters in the trials this time. Even Ningguang who would have normally had her own trial was added to Gorou's trial. But that just tells me something. It tells me Gorou isn't all that impressive. As one of the rare Support characters we're finally seeing again his damage output is not impressive. Instead you're supposed to use him like Albedo where he improves the damage of other characters. Gorou also further improves your team's damage if you use more Geo characters and that's likely why Ningguang appears. At the same time both Ningguang and Noelle can act as DPS in this trial which means most of the spotlight will go to them. But hopefully that doesn't detract anybody's love for our Resistance General who is a good boy. On the flip side is Itto. This guy is 100% DPS and he dramatically improves on what I felt was a detraction from most claymore characters. They are slow. So Itto changes that with the fact that his charged attacks don't each up stamina and he can do even more damage if you use his combo and then hold charge. Tack on his Burst which is pretty much a super mode like Yanfei's or Xiao's where you immediately get his full charged attack on top of a damage buff. Not bad Mihoyo! And of course there's his personality and story and that makes the guy the full package. It's incredible that 1 year has passed and Mihoyo can still make these fully developed characters that can easily resonate with people. Here's to hoping Shenhe and Yunjin keep that trend going too!
