United States. #BareShelvesBiden
# BareShelvesBiden became one of Twitter's top trending topics after Americans submitted photos of bare grocery shelves amid ongoing supply chain concerns in the United States.
Angry social media users around the United States posted photographs of bare supermarket shelves and blamed President Joe Biden for the shortages, with one American stating, "I feel like I'm in a third-world nation."
At first, Jack Posobiec, a conservative commentator and senior editor at Human Events, appeared to be at the forefront of the social media campaign, encouraging detractors of the 46th president to post their own photos.
Biden supporters retaliated by tweeting photographs of well-stocked shelves in local shops, claiming that similar shortages occurred under former President Donald Trump.
Caroline Orr Bueno, a liberal commentator, even said that the hashtag was coordinated by robots and asked Twitter to "look into" how it was able to trend.
Since Biden's inauguration in January 2021, the United States has been plagued by supply chain challenges, rising gasoline prices, and high inflation.
Last week, Biden claimed that he only realized how much meat prices had climbed in the United States after a family member complained that it now costs "almost $5 for a pound of hamburger beef."
