I used to own an early 1970s Ventura. It was a honey burst finish. I gave it to a good friend back in the 1980s. A few months back I decided to bring a Ventura back into my collection and finally found one on Reverb.com that was not beat up (many are). It needed some work but in the end I think it was worth it.

I bought the guitar for $205. Overall it is very solid.
I invested ~$70:
* Fender vintage tuners ~$40
* Fender Stratocaster tremolo arm springs 12-Pack ~$8 https://tinyurl.com/y24hylok
* Dual rail humbucker (bridge) ~18 https://tinyurl.com/y2uxtxgc
Pros:
* Fit and finish is excellent
* Neck is nice
* Pickups sound good
Cons:
* Tuners slipped
* Plastic nut
* Intonation was way off
* Needed a complete setup

I picked up this 2017 Gibson Firebird Zero at Guitar Center for $325 (used). It's quite nice and I was pleasantly surprised. The only drawback is the wrap around bridge. Replace it with a Hip Shot and your ready to go.

Picked this old Ventura up off of eBay for a great price. The guitar is early 1970s making her 45 years old.
$40 worth of parts which included new pickups, A new nut, new tuners and new wiring (sourced from AliExpress) brought this vintage gold top back to life.
